After hesitating in the shadows for a moment, he decided not to follow from afar anymore. He wanted to get closer, to see what was really happening.
Under the cover of night, he quietly sneaked to a wooden rack near the courtyard, concealing himself within the darkness.
He was certain he couldn't go in just yet. He would have to wait at least a half an hour after the lights inside were extinguished before making his move, otherwise he'd be too easily discovered.
The night air was cool, and waiting was beginning to bore him, so he passed the time by gazing at the dim moonlight hidden behind the clouds.
Half an hour after the lights inside were extinguished, he finally emerged from the darkness. He was skilled at scaling walls so climbing over the courtyard wall wasn't a difficult task.
Once he was inside, everything became clear. The courtyard wasn't large and was completely empty.
