The Dragon King Temple was first built in March of the 20th year of Great Nan Fengyuan, when Emperor Nangong Wushuang ordered the construction of a Dragon King Temple on both Tianshui River and Shu River.
Of course, the deities enshrined in this Dragon King Temple were not some dragon kings, but the great hero of the ancient Shu period, Wu Guojiu, who managed the water and oversaw the repair of breaches in Tianshui River and Shu River.
In the 23rd year of King Shu II's reign, in June, both the Tianshui River and Shu River breached and the flood was uncontrollable. Just overnight, half of Su State and the entire Yun State were submerged.
Not a single person from Yun State survived, and only Su State was affected halfway, with the southern part of the river remaining untouched.
That same year, there was severe drought in the northwest region. Mo State, Jing State, and Yong State had already experienced three consecutive years of drought!
