Qiao Xi was on a flight to South City the next afternoon, as she was going there to shoot a perfume advertisement.
Qiao Xi got up early to pack, but received a call from Ran Jing.
She paused, slightly surprised, "Mom."
"Xixi, are you free right now? How about we go shopping and then have lunch together?"
To be fair, Ran Jing hadn't been bad to her. The dreadful mother-in-law one reads about in dog-blooded stories hadn't happened to her.
Before her relationship with Shen Dang was exposed, Qiao Xi felt it wasn't right to refuse Ran Jing.
"I'm free. My flight to South City is at three in the afternoon, so we can have lunch together."
"Okay." Ran Jing's gentle laughter came through, "Then see you in a bit."
"Okay."
Her luggage was almost ready. Worried about the time, Qiao Xi phoned Bei Bei, "I have an appointment at noon, come pick up my suitcase, and we'll meet at the airport in the afternoon."
"Got it, Sister Xi."
