Ginny found her sister's place without much of a struggle. At least she had some money on her, otherwise who knows where she would have ended up. Maybe in a gutter somewhere.
What's more, she found an Uber not so far from Tim's house. Getting to Nissy's house was easier once she was in the car, all she needed was the name of the estate and house number, which she had memorized earlier. She punched in the passcode and let herself in.
Nissy wasn't back, thank goodness, or else she was going to roast her then get an explanation.
. . .
"Gee? Sweety?"
Ginny opened her eyes slowly to find her sister beside her all dressed up. "Good morning, big Sis. Are you just getting back?"
Nissy smiled shyly, "We need to go back home."
This woke her up right away, "What? But we just got here yesterday," she whined. She was not ready to face her father just yet.
Nissy tactfully tucked a strand of hair from her face slowly, something sparkling and twinkling catching the light on her finger. "I know but something came up..."
Ginny's mouth gapped as her eyes blinked rapidly. She squeezed her eyes and blinked again, wiped and looked back at her sister's finger. She had not seen wrong, there was something that looks like a star on her sister's left hand. She pulled the hand and stared wide eyed, not breathing.
Nissy giggled, "Breath, sweety, breath."
Ginny breathed and spoke immediately, her voice came out breathy and fast, "When? How? Is this why we have to go back home today? Are you getting married soon? What the... Sis! I'm so happy, I'm so excited! Oh my God! This is great! Oh my God, congrats, big sis."
Nissy giggled again, "Let's go or else we will be late for the party."
"Party? Today? But..."
"Come on, you little snail. I will tell you the details later." Nissy cut her off, pulling her out of bed.
Ginny couldn't believe her sister was engaged last night. At least something beautiful happened that night, otherwise, she would have remembered it as a bad night for the rest of her life. She sighed, happy and relieved.
Once they were in the car back home, Nissy turned to her sister to question her, "So did you get home okay last night?"
Ginny's heart hammered and her voice cracked as she answered her sister, "Y-yah." She cleared her throat hoping that Tim had not said anything weird.
Nissy squinted her eyes at her sister, "What? That bastard just took you home and didn't say anything weird or hurtful to you?"
Ginny nodded, "I think he is a good person."
Nissy looked at her suspiciously, "I see." She turned away making Ginny sigh silently, but her eyes whipped back to her and she grabbed her, "Don't tell me he's interested in you! That jerk doesn't deserve someone like you, sis! He's so arrogant and pompous, I can't stand him. But I have no choice but to at least tolerate him for Jack's sake."
Ginny removed her sister's tight hands on her body and held them in hers gently. "Sis? He never said anything like that, infact, he's not my type so I'm sure I'm not his either," she assured her.
"That's good to hear. But did he say that you aren't his type? What does he have against you? He's the one who doesn't deserve you. Look at all this-" Nissy said seriously as she point at her sister's boobs and hips.
Ginny felt mortified at her sister's behavior when there was a man in the car with them. "Are you happy or are angry? You can't be both."
Nissy twisted her mouth, "Okay, fine! I'm glad he's not interested and also offended that he made you think that you aren't his type. He's probably jealous cause his wife can never compare to you but at least he's not like the rest of those cheating bastards. I at least respect that about him." She finished as she sat back in her seat.
Ginny couldn't believe her ears, "He's married?" she asked sitting up straighter and turn to her sister.
"I guess. He's always on the phone with his wife when we bore him with our 'lovey dovey show'," she said with air quotes.
Ginny bit her the inside of her mouth, feeling a little too disappointed. But she couldn't be disappointed because he was married, it was because he had said those shameful words about giving in when he was already married.
'What a bastard indeed. Poor woman.' she thought but kept it all to herself. She prayed they never meet again.
Casting that man and his problems out of her head, she focused on her sister. "So how did he propose?" she asked excitedly.
Nissy smiled, "Ahhh, Sis? I wish you were there. It was so beautiful and so out of the blue he had not even planned it. He had bought a ring earlier yesterday planning on doing a big event but he said that his heart was telling him to just go ahead and do it. So he did, right on his penthouse balcony with the twinkling light of the city and the season the background, he proposed. He went on one knee and I was so confused," she laughed, her eyes shinning with joy and love and her sister finally witnessed the glow of love on someone for the first time.
Ginny looked at her sister with awe and undivided attention.
"It was spontaneous and romantic I cried when it finally clicked that he was proposing. I was content with our relationship, I did think of marrying him one day but I didn't think it will come so quickly... He thought I will say no , he was so nervous his hands were shaking he almost dropped the ring a few times," she laughed out again and this time, Ginny joined her.
"I hope you took some pictures."
"We almost forgot but we later did." Nissy's eyes looked dreamy, she was reminiscing their engagement while looking at her ring.
"It suits you. You shine so bright everywhere you are, just like a star."
"Ohh my God! Jack said something close to that when he proposed!"
Ginny gasped with a little smile, "Are you serious?"
"I swear you two are like in sync or something. And you both know me so well. And I love you both so much."
"Aww, sis," Ginny gave her side hug, "I love you too, sis... So have you guys decided where you are going to have your wedding?"
"Yes, it will be back in Lagos. My boo owns a hotel-" she said with a bragging voice but Ginny cut her off knowing where she was going.
"And my dear sis would love to show it off."
"See? You know me so well. I never follow trends, while everyone else is getting married in Dubai, I'm getting married here so that my enemies can attend my happy day and see just how happy I am. They go know," she sneered and went back to her smile.
All Ginny could do was shake her head. She knew where this was all coming from and she already felt sorry for those girls that ever rubbed her sister in a bad way.
