Narrowing my gaze, I folded my arms over my chest. Time ticked aimlessly amidst the silence between me and Jace.

My back was ramrod straight, waiting for him to explain what he was doing in my place at this hour. He was enjoying the tease, a playful smirk on his lips.

Although he was making my heart flutter and my cheeks burn, feeling giddy by being called his and pretty damsel like a high school girl, I wouldn't make any excuses for him.

Pursing my lips, I drummed my fingers on my arm, my patience growing thin.

Yet I had no plans of breaking the silence first.

Jace and I were having a stare-me-down contest. I'm trying to read what he was thinking, but with the limited information I have of him, it was impossible to draw any conclusion about what he had in mind.

Not to mention that I was battling being flustered by his words.
