Jace's POV
Did I have regrets?
Many.
But what I told Amiel was the truth.
My feelings for her are genuine.
Her stare was intense, and the silence surrounding us was thick with tense heat. There were words that we both refused to say and admit at this moment. Yet we both know that our hearts were beating as one.
Our faces were inches apart. If I leaned an inch more, we both knew what would happen. And I was ready to face the consequences.
However, a streak of light crossing the once clear sky caught our attention. The resonating thunder that followed had both of us jumping apart.
It didn't take long before thin cold rain pelted on the flowers around us and eventually on our skin.
"Come on!" Amiel was on her feet in an instant. I followed her, leaving the blanket as we raced inside to get inside the mansion.
