Chapter 47 - Cake

Tainting my lips with a matte lipstick to complete the look, I stared at my reflection in the mirror. 

I managed to arrange my hair in a neat bun and surround it with pearl beads to match the dress I was going to wear. 

The theme was old rose, my mother's favorite color. I blinked before blowing out a sigh. I looked so much like my mother.

My father used to tell me that. I would argue that I had a semblance to him too.

Dismissing the somber thoughts, I walked out of the comfort room, approached the closet, and dragged out the box containing a selection of the perfumes I loved to wear.

"Hm," I picked the bottle that matched the color of my dress and savored the scent. It was floral, sweet, but not too strong.

Placing it back, I was left to stare at my reflection again. I was ready, but something was missing.

Pulling out the jewelry box I retrieved from Seven's place, I reached for the necklace with the phoenix.
