"A special agent?" I scoffed, throwing my head back and pinching the bridge of my nose. "Where did you even get the notion that I am one? What proof do you have?"
Jace held my gaze, looking confident with his claim.
"I know one when I see one."
"Oho!" I exclaimed. "Are you one then?"
"You keep evading the subject by throwing the questions I asked back to me."
"It's because you're not being honest. You want me to be, but you also have a boat load of secrets yourself. That doesn't feel right at all."
Pursing his lips, Jace blew out a sigh. He threw his hands in the air before getting back on his feet.
"You're leaving?" I raised one brow as I asked this.
Jace caught my gaze, smiling slyly.
"Why? Do you wish for me to stay longer?"
I was flabbergasted at his suggestion. My irritation escalated to the point that I would have lost my cool. But in times like this, I should remember to be level-headed.
