I find it sad that people like Alejandro get the best medical attention while those with nothing are poorly treated.
Before shifting costumes, I had to wait for the event to be shut off. Looking at my target, an IV drip attached to his arm, I couldn't wait to see the haunted look in his eyes upon Sage kissing him goodbye.
The thought felt satisfying.
It had been a smooth ride. We reached the medical facility in no time while I tried not to stick out too much.
The nurse's uniform reminded me of Seven and how I had to sneak him out of the facility. His identity couldn't be exposed, and with the number of enemies he had, it was too risky to leave him in a place where people could freely come in and walk out.
With Alejandro, though, I didn't need to worry about needing to be sneaky. I need people to see that he was dead.
I could already imagine the headline for the next paper.
When the van stopped, I let the medical staff carry Alejandro out.
"Your five minutes start on your signal," Wizardo informed. I could hear him tearing open a bag of chips.
He was making me jealous on purpose.
"Tch," I mumbled, limiting my response lest I get caught.
The other medical staff receiving Wizardo panicked upon catching sight of his security detail.
They wouldn't be able to tell that the cupcake was poisoned as his people took a bite oo and nothing happened.
But a little research made it known that he was allergic to bananas.
A little amount was fatal to him, and sure, I would have pitied the man. Yet I couldn't make myself do so.
Instead of pitying him, I was itching to have Sage with me and get this deal done in five minutes.
I might get lucky and finally see Wizardo.
The idea of how he looked popped into my mind. I almost found myself skipping the rest of the way leading to the emergency at the medical facility.
A doctor tended to Alejandro, asking his security detail what happened.
There were red rashes on his olive skin, tainting the smooth surface.
He was barely conscious.
It was tempting to taunt him while his consciousness was waning. My face will perhaps be the last thing he will see.
Even so, he won't even be able to report me.
By the time he could put two and two together—the student at the charity event and then the nurse, his head would already be rolling on the floor, eyes looking up.
The heart monitor beside Alejandro beeped dangerously as it neared to form a straight line.
I waited by the side, feigning worry while glancing at him and then at his security.
They may have the advantage of largely built bodies. But that made it easier for me to find a weak spot and attack.
Honestly, that banana wasn't supposed to attack him this badly. I would be saddened if it ended up killing him before me.
But then again, that would still finish the job. And they won't be able to sue anybody for that. No one knew he was allergic to anything.
Plus, his security detail saw the exchange. He didn't ask what was in the cupcake, nor did he say that he was allergic to anything.
Unless they intended to pin the blame on the innocent, I could only wish them good luck.
They won't find anyone.
The school I represented was inexistent. But with Wizardo's touch, everyone was fooled for a while.
Hearing a steady heartbeat, I smirked.
With the commotion subsiding, the doctor started giving out instructions while I tiptoed and disappeared from their sight.
I would need to wait until they move him to a private room. While at it, I needed to switch gears again.
I promised that this would be a grand death.
And it will be.
In the safety of the elevator, I breathed out a sigh.
"Five minutes, eh? You better not cheat. Or it would be best if you got ready to be beaten. I'd hate for you to have to beg for my forgiveness. It won't be easy."
Wizardo chuckled.
"I think I can handle myself. Besides, there's no way you can find me."
I scoffed.
"Ha! That's where you're wrong."
I'm bluffing, and he knew it. But I didn't care.
"I'd like to see you try, Amiel."
I scoffed.
"You're not playing fair, and you know it."
"Tch," Wizardo munched on the food he had at the ready. I felt irritated. "For all you know, you already saw me. We might have passed each other by, or who knows, I might have come to your workplace."
To be honest, when he said that, only one person came to mind. But instead of telling him about my find, I'd rather keep that as an ace.
Plus, there was the notion that I could be wrong.
Wizardo's defiance to meet with me greatly contrasts with the guy I had in mind. He brazenly shows up anywhere and at any time.
With that in mind, I frowned at the thought of seeing him here at the medical facility. What were the odds for that to happen?
"You refuse to see me, genius. I'm not dumb to fall for that trick. Besides, if you did that, then the deal is off."
"Are you sure?"
I laughed, clamping my mouth as I reached the ground floor.
I heard Wizardo madly typing on the keyboard heading for the changing room. He was taping on the camera that captured my whereabouts.
If anyone tried to find me, they would end up with nothing. I'd be like a ghost to those who had seen me, and eventually, no one will have a coherent memory of ever seeing me around.
Immediately recognizing the locker number, I had it opened and snatched my things.
My favorite color was black.
As I threw my overalls, I couldn't stop my lips from forming a smirk.
"You better walk your talk."
Wizardo exhaled a sigh, amused.
"I will. But first, you must complete it in five minutes."
I scoffed.
"Get ready," I challenged. "Because this time, I would surely succeed."
