Two different cases of killings were reported the next day. Seven timed it perfectly. But now the speculation began.
Some were saying that the famed assassin had found an accomplice. A few said it was simultaneously done; a real queen of assassins was born.
In all honesty, I have no idea how to feel about it. Should I be proud? Those were my thoughts while absent-mindedly preparing breakfast.
I hissed upon touching a hot surface, belatedly realizing that the pan had heated up already.
"Careless," a voice echoed from behind. I spun and glared at Jace. He managed to put a shirt on. His hair was beautifully disheveled, clearly out of bed.
"And you're not supposed to be sassying around, telling me off."
Jace chuckled, resting one hand on his side while he extended the other to me.
"Let me do that," he remarked. I had prepared the pancake mix. I just needed to put in the oil and then start making several servings.
