Katherine.
"Shit!" Dad hit the punctured tire with his foot. He was surely frustrated seeing the smoke that blew from the front of his car.
We were already in Hallsenberg. It took five hours to get here.
It would've been faster by plane.
"I told you we could fly to Hallsenberg instead of driving. Now what are we gonna do dad? We are stuck on an unknown road in the middle of nowhere!" Tyler's words were not helping. Instead it was making dad more angry.
"I thought about having a long drive with my kids! Was that a problem? And it's not like I could foresee the future and get alerted that our car was going to crash all of a sudden!"
He just thought about having family time. Poor dad.
"Well, since we are already in Hallsenberg, can't we walk to our villa? Is it far from here?" What am I saying? Walk?
"Yes honey. We are still near the east forest." He pointed at the large trees on our right. " This forest is the opening of Hallsenberg. We still have a few more miles to go."
"Aren't there any houses nearby? We could actually ask for help."
He shook his head.
"We will have to wait till the repair guys show up."
I wish someone could just pinch me and tell me that this was all just a dream. Suddenly moving to Hallsenberg, the car breaks down, getting stuck in the middle of the road…..what more?
"Kat, where's Tyler?"
I look around. Where the hell did he go? He was just here.
"I- I- don't know. He was just here." I stutter.
"Damn that boy! Never listens! Kat, you go check on the right side, I'll go check the left. And call me if you find him."
I nod.
"O- okk."
Where did he suddenly disappear? He was just standing next to me while we were talking!
"TYYYLLLER!" I shout loudly, scaring the birds. Why was it so dark inside the forest? The sunlight was barely reaching.
Am I even in the right place? Am I allowed to be here?
Something runs behind me.
I stop walking and wait for it to move again. There was someone's shadow behind a tree.
"Tyler, you better come out or I swear you'll see the worst of me!" I hated being here. Everything was creeping me out.
"Tyler!" I shouted again. The figure still didn't budge from its position.
Was it really Tyler?
Don't trick me boy!
"T- Ty- Tyler?" My heart was pounding. I was starting to sweat.
I should get out of here. I'm scared.
Slowly, I took a few steps back. This wasn't Tyler for sure. He would never mess with me like this.
After walking a few steps back, I finally started running. My heart was racing as I saw the shadow run behind me, trying to catch me. I ran for my life but to find no end.
I've lost my path.
"HELPPPP!!" I shouted. "DAD HELPP!" My foot hit a rock and landed me on my knees, fracturing them.
"No, I have to run." It was hard to get back on my feet. I screamed in pain, until a growling sound distracted me.
"Nooo….!" I moaned, slowly turning my head around.
A huge monster-like creature stood before me.
"Wh- wh- what is t- th-that?"
I couldn't believe what I was looking at. Never have I ever seen anything like this.
Blood was dripping from his mouth as he glared at me in fury. I could hear my own heart beat.
"Pl- pl- plea- please do- don- don't k-k-kill me-" I was running out of breath. I must be dreaming. I should be. This can't be real.
But sadly it was. It was all real.
I tried to run again, only to get myself caught under his tight grip. He caught me by my neck as I struggled. Tears trailed down my cheeks as I feared his next move. I was running out of breath, my heart was thumping non stop. I was having a panic attack.
"Can someone save me? Anyone?
What did I do to deserve something like this? Please help me, someone. Please!!" I cried in my head. But there was no one listening.
I closed my eyes as the monster growled, and threw me in the air.
This is it. I am going to die down here in a forest where nobody will find me.
"I am sorry, father. I'm sorry, Tyler."
I felt my body go numb, blood started dripping from my nose.
I opened my eyes, just as I was about to fall back on the ground. To my death.
But miraculously, someone grabbed me and embraced me to a hug. We rolled down together.
Someone saved me.
I tried looking at my savior's face. But my vision blurred, I got dizzy.
"T-thank y-y-yyou." The words could hardly escape from my mouth. But something else caught my attention. The eyes, and the lips. They were blue. Despite my poor vision at the moment, it was clearly glowing before my eyes.
"Just like the boy from my dreams" I thought. He must be real! He saved me.
Tears dripped down his cheeks and landed on mine.
Why is he crying? I wish I could ask him. But just as I tried touching his face, the last strength in my body died. My eyes closed shut, I couldn't feel anything. Everything turned dark.
