Xavier took out the first aid kit box and started working. He applied some ointment on Elena's ankle, so the bruise wouldn't get worse tomorrow. And then he went up to her wrists. He applied the ointment gently.
While the man was attentively treating her wounds, Elena kept looking at Xavier's face. She just realized that her fear of him was unfounded. She thought he was cold and ruthless and hated her for marrying his brother. However, it seemed he was actually gentle and didn't hate her.
Maybe it's just his personality that he couldn't warm up to her immediately. She was reminded of when she met him for the first time. He saved her from those thugs and took her to his home, provided her with shelter, and he didn't talk much back then too.
"Thank you," said Elena when Xavier had finished applying the medicine to her ankles and wrists.
"Hmm."
Then, silence again.
