Nobody said a word in the elevator until it reached the ground floor and entered the parking lot. Xavier could feel Elena's ragged breath and shaking body. They didn't subside even after ten minutes. He walked briskly to his car, opened the door, and put her in the backseat. Then fastened the seatbelt.
After he got in, Xavier took out his phone and texted something to his team. They didn't know he was on the perimeter because he was rushing to save Elena and didn't have time to notify them. He also didn't think he needed to call for a backup.
