Elena went to the restaurant alone. She asked Alistair to wait for her order. She said she would have dinner with a friend and might not go home. So, if she confirmed that she would stay at her friend's place Alistair could just leave her and pick her up tomorrow after she called him.
The bodyguard's face looked surprised to hear her request. "We are supposed to always keep an eye on you, Madam. I cannot leave you alone."
Elena understood that Elleard was paranoid and always wanted to be surrounded by his security, but Elena was not him. She was not traumatized by her parents' murder and she was not used to being tagged along by the bodyguards all the time.
She could accept having them when she went to school or other places, but it would be really awkward to bring them to her date with another man. Besides, she already had them as bodyguards for months now and nothing bad had ever happened.
