Lisa blinked her eyes and pretended she caught dust. She squeezed her husband's arm and smiled reassuringly. "You're right, Edward. We'll just stay here until the wedding is over. I'm fine."
"Good," said Edward. He pulled her closer to him and patted her on the shoulder. "Don't embarrass yourself."
Lisa nodded weakly. She lifted her face again and watched the bride walking towards the altar. A cool feeling crept up in her heart as she realized Elleard's future wife looked very much like her.
Did that mean Elleard still couldn't get over her and decided to marry a woman who looked like her?
Then… it's a pity for this woman who would become Elleard's wife. Did she know she was just a replacement? Lisa was wondering.
Lisa was not sure that a marriage that was not based on sincere love like this would survive.
Ahh… why did she think that way? Elleard was no longer her business. The two of them… were now nothing. She shouldn't care if his marriage would work or not.
There were whispers and sighs from among the guests who watched the bride walk gracefully toward the altar. Elena looked gorgeous in an above-the-knee wedding dress adorned with Swarovski crystals and paired it with beautiful white stilettos that showed off her long legs.
All day yesterday she had been training to walk gracefully in high heels and now her legs were a bit sore, but she tried to keep a smile and still looked beautiful in the eyes of all the guests present.
Elena did not want to embarrass her husband in front of his relatives and people. She took a deep breath and smiled when she saw on the other end, Elleard was waiting for her in his wheelchair.
Beside the man was Xavier who was standing tall in a black tuxedo making him look like the sinister bodyguard of a prince on his throne. Xavier was very handsome, but even at his brother's wedding, he still couldn't show a happy smile.
In fact… he looked very cold and unfazed about his surroundings. Elena wondered if Xavier didn't like her and was annoyed by the fact that Elleard married Elena?
For Elena to arrive at the place where Elleard was, it felt like she had to walk a long way. She stepped gracefully through the rows of guest chairs, holding Uncle Luca's arm. Her gaze was fixed on Elleard. The husband-to-be looked satisfied when he saw Elena's appearance.
The girl was very obedient. She wore Elleard's chosen wedding dress and stilettos prepared for her like a professional model who strutted her dress and shoes on the catwalk as best she could, without protest.
This made Elleard satisfied. He knew that Elena would be a good and obedient wife to him. He didn't need a stubborn girl who would go against his wishes. Elleard had no time for such a woman.
Finally, Elena arrived in front of the altar, where the front row of seats was occupied by the Osbart extended family members that she'd never seen before. From the corner of Elena's eyes, she could see how coldly Xavier looked at her.
She felt bad seeing Xavier's gaze. Now she was sure that Xavier didn't like her.
Elena finally arrived by Elleard's side. The man reached out and grabbed his wife's hand. Uncle Luca nodded and released his hold from Elena's arms, officially handing the girl into her husband's hands.
He then backed away and walked to find a chair to sit next to Hanna, his daughter. Xavier also nodded and left Elleard. Then he sat down next to Simon, on the front seat, near Elleard.
Elena smiled at Elleard, but she couldn't deny her chest was pounding really hard. Today, Elleard looked very handsome. He wore a black tuxedo and a blue tie. His face looked very clean and fresh, his eyes shone with admiration and satisfaction with Elena's appearance.
"Don't be nervous," the man said softly, as if reading Elena's thoughts. "You look very beautiful."
Elena nodded weakly. She was relieved to realize that Elleard understood her very well and knew that she was indeed nervous. So he was trying to calm her down. This made her feel very cared for and loved.
At 16.15, the wedding ceremony began. Elleard and Elena faced each other, their faces smiling. There was silence, only the voice of the priest telling them to follow what he said.
The two of them started saying their wedding vows.
"I, Elleard Salvator Osbart, accept you, Elena Neri, as my wife, and I promise to be with you in happy and sad times. I will support you in sickness and in health. I live only to love you and to make you happy. As long as we are both alive, I will always take care of you. I love you."

The priest smiled with satisfaction because the bride and groom had said their wedding vows smoothly. He nodded towards Elleard and Elena.
"Now you may kiss your bride," he said.
Elena smiled shyly at the priest's words. She then bent down to kiss Elleard. However, before she could touch the man's lips, Elleard had pulled Elena's body into his lap.
"Ahh…" Elena's surprised voice immediately disappeared, because Elleard had hugged her shoulder and planted a kiss on her pink lips. Elena couldn't say anything. Her pair of eyes widened in shock and her heart was pounding so hard!
This was her first kiss! She had imagined many times what kissing with Elleard would be like, but she had never expected it to be like this.
Elleard bit her lower lip gently and pushed his tongue to enter Elena's mouth, which was still gasping in surprise. When he found her tongue, Elleard sucked it and twisted it in her mouth. It was a passionate kiss.
Unknowingly, a soft sigh escaped from Elena's pair of red lips, which her husband was kissing affectionately, in front of everyone. Slowly, she closed her eyes and enjoyed the moment. It was... surreal.
Xavier looked away. From the corner of his eye, he caught sight of Lisa standing in the back row. He couldn't imagine how she was feeling right now seeing the intimate kiss between Elleard and his new wife. Was Lisa jealous?
Gah! That wench had no right to be jealous! It was she who left Elleard 4 months ago and married another man.
Xavier had no sympathy for her.
