Chapter 18 - A Room Fit For A Princess

The two of them reached the elevator. One of Elleard's bodyguards pressed a button. After the elevator opened, Elena walked into it, following the movement of Elleard's wheelchair.

Although she was very amazed and impressed to see a house that had an elevator, Elena tried to act casual. She didn't want to look stupid by gaping her mouth at every new thing she saw.

When in the elevator, Elena and Elleard stood at the back, while in front of them were two bodyguards. Their stiff-looking demeanor and their hands holding their weapons surprised Elena. Did Elleard still have to be guarded even in his own house?

She didn't understand that the man was still traumatized by the fact that his parents and their many men were slaughtered at a place that they thought was secured by high-level security. So, now Elleard never let his guard down... even in his own home.

DING!

The elevator doors open on the third floor. It did not look much different from the first floor, only here the feel of the room was lighter with a touch of white on the sofa, shining wooden floor, and more paintings on the wall. The two bodyguards were no longer following Elleard. They stood in front of the elevator and waited for him.

Elleard led Elena to a room at the end of the hall. "This is your room. You can rest and get to know your place. If you need anything you can tell me or Samantha. You will also have a personal maid to take care of all your personal needs."

Elleard was about to leave the girl after showing Elena her room, but Elena held his shoulder.

"Sir!" Elena batted her eyes and looked at Elleard pleadingly. "This house, the people in it are still foreign to me. Can you accompany me for a while? Until I get used to it."

Elleard looked at his watch. "Just a moment. I have a business to attend to."

"Okay." Elena was still frozen on the spot. She felt lost in a foreign world and the only connection she had to the real world was this man before her. So, she hoped he would stay a little bit longer with her.

"Open your bedroom door, Elena!" Elleard ordered her.

Slightly hesitant, Elena slowly reached for the doorknob of her room. It had a huge white double door with two beautiful handles decorated with a lion head carving. Slowly Elena pushed open the door.

She thought it would be hard since the wooden door was huge and so thick, but it just slid so easily under her soft push. The door moved smoothly, even though it was made of thick, very heavy wood.

When the door opened wide, Elena was stunned to see the enormous space spread out in front of her. The room was very feminine with a beautiful four-poster bed made of teak wood decorated with carvings plated in gold. There were curtains on the four pillars in light blue with the silk sheets and blankets, looking very soft.

Next to the bed were large floor-to-ceiling windows that opened onto a large balcony with a very comfortable-looking blue sofa, and a small set of tables for teatime or relaxing reading.

Next to the bed was a cute dressing table that looked very elegant. The shining wooden floor was decorated with a very thick and soft carpet. When she stepped onto the carpet, Elena felt as if she were stepping on a cloud. It was super soft.

Elena had only seen rooms like this in high-end fashion magazines and she had no idea that one day she would live in a room like this.

"I am not a princess, sir." Elena said. Her eyes kept going around sweeping every corner of this room. "But I feel like one when I step inside this room."

"You like it?" asked Elleard.

"I don't think there's a girl who doesn't like a room as cute as this." Elena took a deep breath, trying to convince herself that she was still breathing and alive, she didn't die and go to heaven.

"Good!" said Elleard. He had asked a well-known interior designer to prepare this room in two days. After he decided to marry Elena, he moved quickly to get everything ready for her to move in.

Even though Elena rejected him the first time, Elleard didn't think too much of her rejection. He just knew that sooner or later, he would make her say yes.

In his order to the designer, Elleard only mentioned that the room should be able to impress a young woman. Now, he was satisfied to see Elena's reaction.

Elena stepped hesitantly into the room and felt every fabric, sofa, curtains, and even the walls. All of this felt unreal. She really liked her room.

Elleard cleared his throat and tilted his head towards their right.

"Would you like to see the bathroom and the walk-in closet?" the man asked.

Elena nodded shyly. Elleard moved his wheelchair to the right, followed by Elena. The large gray sliding door automatically opened to the left and revealed a very large room behind it.

The walk-in closet had plenty of shelves and storage space partially filled with women's clothing, shoes, and accessories. In the center was a comfortable sofa with a small table equipped with champagne glasses and some bottles.

Elena turned to Elleard with a confused look.

"What is this for?" She felt like she just stepped inside a high-end boutique because of the size of the room.

"This is a place to store your clothes, bags, shoes, and other accessories," said Elleard. He pointed to the champagne glasses on the table. "I can accompany you to choose which clothes to wear while drinking champagne."

His words were spoken so casually as if he was just commenting on the weather, but it made Elena's face blush instantly.

Did that mean… Elleard was going to be here and watch her when she got dressed?

"Husband and wife do that," said Elleard reminding Elena that they would soon be married. "I'm happy to give my wife my opinion on how she looks."

Elena looked at the man with a complicated expression. She admitted that Elleard seemed to have good taste. He always wore very fashionable outfits that made him look relaxed yet impressive at the same time. Basically, he always looked effortlessly cool.

Elena's gaze then turned to the clothes neatly arranged on the hangers and shelves. Did Elleard choose all these for her?

As if reading Elena's thoughts, Elleard waved his hand and pointed at the clothes hanger, then said, "I've selected some of the clothes here for you. In addition, I've asked some well-known fashion houses to send you their best collections for you to choose for yourself. They are all in your size. If there's something you don't like, just put them in the basket at the end of the room and they'll take it back."

Elena rolled her eyes when she heard Elleard's words. No wonder this walk-in closet looked like a boutique. That's a lot of stuff!!

"This is… a lot," said Elena, laughing awkwardly. "Even if I put on new clothes every day, I think it will take me years before I can finish wearing them all."

"So what?" asked Elleard, shrugging. "I never wear the same clothes twice. I think my wife deserves the same privileges too."

Elena blinked in surprise. "B-but… it's bad for the environment… We shouldn't throw away perfectly good clothes… It's okay to wear them many times."

Elena was horrified. She had read that the waste problem in today's world was very serious. Moreover, coupled with the fast fashion industry which sold a lot of clothes at low prices and made people often waste clothes.

Now she met a rich man who also threw away his clothes after one use even though they must have been very expensive.

Why didn't rich people care about the earth at all? The girl was baffled. She looked at all the clothes in the walk-in closet and sighed. "I… don't need a lot of clothes. I'll pick a few that I really like and return the rest."

Elleard frowned. The flat expression on his face turned to disdain.

"I don't want people to think I am not dressing my wife properly," he said coldly.

"No, that's not what I meant..." Elena felt bad. She bit her lip and looked at all the clothes again. Perhaps she had been poor for too long that it was very difficult for her to follow the rich people's way of thinking.

Not wanting Elleard to be angry with her for refusing his gifts, Elena finally nodded. "I'll try to get used to it. I don't want to embarrass you, sir."

Elleard finally smiled back. His handsome face always looked twice as charming when his lips were curved upwards like this. The man's smile made Elena feel relieved.

"I have to go, Elena," Elleard said. He turned to Elena, waiting for the girl to nod.

"Very well, sir. I will try to get used to this room and a different life."

"I'm sure you'll like it," Elleard said. "Well, you must be tired after such a hard day like today. You can take a warm bath and relax."

"Thank you," said Elena. Elleard touched the girl's arm and patted it gently. Then he turned his wheelchair and left Elena's new room.

Elena walked with Elleard until the man came out the door. She remained silent in her place, watching Elleard's frail back go until the man disappeared behind the elevator doors. She sensed that Elleard was really unwell, but the man always acted like he was fine.

After Elena closed the door behind her, she opened the door to the bathroom and saw what her private bathroom looked like. For a moment she was stunned.

The bathroom was very large. The floor and walls were made of ivory-white marble with light blue accents. There was a large jacuzzi in the center of the bathroom with a separate luxury shower. Then there were a cute sofa in one corner and a bookcase with some interesting books in it.

Next to it was a luxurious dressing table made of old teak wood and double sinks.

Beside the jacuzzi, there was a large window overlooking a very beautiful flower garden covered by wooden blinds. Taking a bath while looking at the beautiful garden, accompanied by a glass of wine and a book, must feel very pleasant.

Elena's round eyes immediately noticed a small cupboard containing a bottle of wine and two wine glasses. Ahh… should she give it a try? Soaking herself in the jacuzzi, while drinking wine? It would be like in the movies.

Elena held her breath, still amazed that she was in a place like this. She needed to get used to it first. She hoped she wouldn't embarrass Elleard.

Her heart suddenly skipped a beat when she realized that the two wine glasses near the huge jacuzzi, must mean there was a possibility that she would take a bath together with Elleard while enjoying wine together.
