One of the Broad Wisdom Sect's disciples had already been defeated, though they were also the weakest of the disciples.
A single strike from Yu Hao had sent that person flying while vomiting blood, so no one dared to underestimate him and Zhang Baichi.
The leader of the Broad Wisdom Sect's disciples had already ordered to attack; thus, everyone drew their weapons and went onto the offensive.
One of the disciples jumped at Yu Hao, only to be repelled with a single strike of the latter's sword.
It was a simple attack, a clean strike against the opponent's weapon, but it sent the Broad Wisdom Sect's disciple stumbling backwards a few steps.
Zhang Baichi's eyes lit up; Yu Hao had perfectly struck his opponent's weak spot. Not only was the attack blocked, but Yu Hao managed to complete crush the incoming attack with minimal effort.
This was a level of control that was extremely hard to achieve, but Yu Hao made it look so easy. 'The system was right. He is a genius for Martial Techniques…'
The more Zhang Baichi watched Yu Hao, the more he realized that the way Yu Hao was fighting was the complete opposite of Zhang Baichi. Yu Hao relied on his mastery over martial arts to suppress his opponents with the least amount of effort.
On the other hand, Zhang Baichi fought by relying on his instincts to make the right move at the right time. He could fight emotionlessly and win solely by relying on his battle senses.
'It's a very easy way to fight, but I might need to change things up more in the future. I need to master a specific fighting style in the long term for sure.', he thought to himself.
In just this short amount of time, Yu Hao had already disposed of another disciple from the Broad Wisdom Sect. Unlike the disciple from before, this one wasn't as lucky.
Yu Hao had attacked with his sword, wounding the disciple to the point where they would need at least a few weeks if not months to recover.
'Suppression through superior technique, that's his fighting style. But what about my own? What should I focus on…', Zhang Baichi's thought process was cut short by an attack from the side.
His eyes darted to the right, immediately focusing on the attacking disciple and he dodged by simply swaying backwards. His hand shook and the attacker was hit straight into the chin, dizzying him for just a single moment.
That alone gave Zhang Baichi enough time to grab the disciples by the collar of his uniform and throwing him back into the fray of disciples.
He wasn't injured, just slightly dizzy for a moment, and he stared at Zhang Baichi in shock.
The leader of the Broad Wisdom Sect's disciples naturally noticed this exchange as well, but only got more enraged. Why had Zhang Baichi done that? Did he mean to let the other disciple fight against their whole team alone?
As he was being stared at, Zhang Baichi frowned as well. He had lost his train of thought because of the attack, but he still refused to interfere in the battle.
'Great, where was I…', he sighed in his heart and continued to watch Yu Hao. The latter was surrounded by four opponents at the same time and put into a disadvantageous position in a short among of time.
At least it looked like that from the Broad Wisdom Sect's perspective. Zhang Baichi understood stat Yu Hao was merely using this situation to get a better grasp over his own strength.
At first, each of his strikes would send someone stumbling back, but by now, his strikes would only repel an attack. If one didn't know about his situation, it would surely look like he was losing strength.
'His control over his body is ridiculously good… He managed to sublimate his use of strength is such a short amount of time… Can I do the same?', Zhang Baichi thought to himself.
The more he watched Yu Hao, the more impressed he grew. Giving him the True Dragon Blood was definitely worth it; It was like giving wings to a tiger, truly allowing Yu Hao to shine.
The leader of the Broad Wisdom Sect's disciples was growing impatient and frustrated. He could no longer contain himself and finally made a move as well, fighting together with three other disciples to hold Yu Hao at bay.
With someone that was about as strong as himself in front and three others attacking from the sides and back, Yu Hao started to feel pressured, but that only made his fighting spirit blaze even stronger.
Still, the leader from the Broad Wisdom Sect kept an eye on Zhang Baichi and didn't fight with all of his strength.
They were already having trouble with Yu Hao alone, and Zhang Baichi as their leader would surely be even more difficult to dead with, much less if both of them joined hands. 'It was a miscalculation.'
His pride had gotten in his way before, but he finally accepted that Yu Hao was different from the disciples of backwater sects that he expected. He was truly a genius and a powerful opponent to face.
Just the fact that Zhang Baichi was completely calm even when Yu Hao was amassing injuries in battle showed that he was confident that he had this whole situation in his grasp.
'We need to run. Even if that guy is nothing special, the risk is too high.', he stared at Yu Hao, who was fighting to his heart's content.
A few moments later, his eyes turned to Zhang Baichi, and the two of them coincidentally met eyes. The leader of the Broad Wisdom Sect's disciples felt his heart sink.
Zhang Baichi smiled at him like a predator stared at its prey, making the leader of the Broad Wisdom Sect's disciples feel fear. 'He knows! F*ck, he knows! They were planning to kill from the start!'
'We have to settle this quickly!' He focused back on Yu Hao and his aura flared up. "Stop holding back and kill them already!"
Meanwhile, Zhang Baichi's smile grew wider, and he looked at Yu Hao's back. 'Let's see how he deal with them now.'
Yu Hao was already injured, but his control over his body and strength has grown considerably and reached a frighteningly high level. Under the pressure of multiple strong opponents, he was naturally growing at an exceptional rate.
Even when fighting at their full strength, the Broad Wisdom Sect's disciples had no way to defeat Yu Hao; He was just too tenacious! They were wasting so much energy to pressure and injure him, but no one could deliver a decisive blow to him.
Moreover, it seemed like he was continuously healing, even when his attacks were getting 'weaker' than before.
A short while passed in the stalemate before Yu Hao's sword flashed past one of the disciple's throats. Blood splattered and a body fell to the ground.
The leader from the Broad Wisdom Sect's disciples gritted his teeth and shouted at Zhang Baichi, "Tell him to back down! We can solve this a different way!"
He did not get any response from Zhang Baichi, who just continued to smile leisurely. The leader was still attacked by Yu Hao and could not focus on Zhang Baichi any longer.
A short while later, he shouted again, his voice much more desperate than before as another disciple from his side fell lifelessly to the ground. "Stop! Stop! We were wrong! We won't fight you any longer! Let's talk!"
Zhang Baichi laughed at him, finally giving an answer with a wide smile on his face. "Now you want to talk? You were the one that was adamant about not settling things peacefully."
"I underestimated you! We admit defeat! We were wrong!" He could only give up now. If even more of the disciples on his side died, they would not be able to finish the mission given to them.
If that happened, this whole ordeal would have been for naught.
Yet, it seemed that things would not come to this. Zhang Baichi still smiled but was shaking his head now. "Since you know what you did wrong, you can strive to be a better human in your next life."
"You-!", the leader of the Broad Wisdom Sect cursed, but was interrupted by Yu Hao's blade.
His eyes drifted to Zhang Baichi, who was now walking closer to the immediate battlefield with a sword in his hand. A silvery white aura seemed to linger around the sword's blade, which sent an ice-cold shiver down the Broad Wisdom Sect's disciples' backs.
Zhang Baichi was casually walking towards them in one moment, and madly charging at the frontmost disciple in the next. His sword vanished from sight and only an arc of silver light remained as the head of one of the disciples was separated from their body.
"I'm sorry, but I don't have a habit of leaving the roots after cutting the grass."
