Annoyance was the thing that Heroth hated the most.
There were times when he desired adventure, so he went out to search for one, and there were times when he looked for peace, which he obtained by trying to lie low in some small island villages he found.
When he started to live in hiding during his vacations, there were often that he would make moves depending on the needs of the people around him like some hidden expert. However, with time, Heroth also learned that those kinds of moves will often create further problems along the line. They were bringing him more trouble and ruining his attempt to have a peaceful vacation.
Which is why he stopped caring, he didn't care what happened to those around him as long as he could live his life peacefully. And that has remained true till now.
