Being the third party handling Farhad, Priest Boman was not so foolish to believe the Radiant Knight Vance word for word. And he was right to do so, as the story he obtained from Farhad's mouth was slightly different.
Sadly, due to Farhad losing his head during the scuffle, he also ended up losing the memory of the fact that Vance had tried to end his life during the conflict. Which in turn made it possible for most of the blame to fall on Farhad.
