The nobles that were forcefully conscripted into the military were most of the time, the problem children.
Their parents had hoped that they might learn something from the hardship they suffered on the border. Some were forced there due to a crime they committed and this was a great way for them to redeem themselves.
But born with a golden spoon in their mouth and never facing any hardship in their life, it's hard for these people to change their nature. And even in the barracks, they are considered a problematic bunch only capable of doing small things on the side, as no general would even depend on a spoiled child to do something important.
