Luke got into the car and pulled out his phone to contact Joanna, who had just been released on bail a couple of days ago.
Joanna had been arrested for dealing in silver and impersonating LAPD. Luke had reduced one of her charges, and in exchange, she was to help him find the redhead female victim involved in a carjacking on June 25.
Three days had passed without a response from Joanna, which was starting to irritate Luke.
Soon, the phone connected. "Who's this?"
"It's Luke from the Robbery and Murder Department."
"Wow, Detective Chief Luke, no, Deputy Luke, what do you need me for?"
Luke chuckled coldly, "Thanks for remembering my name. I'm calling to let you know that I'm looking for you and getting ready to send you back to jail."
"Hehe, please don't do that, I'm searching for Maxine, trust me."
"Oh, that's a surprise. You remembered. I thought you had forgotten."
"How could I? I'm on it."
"Meet me at the police station tomorrow morning."
