Chapter 1 - Yes, a new life

I was nothing but a little petty child disowned by his own parent from their realm. Banished to nowhere near the civilization.

Only because of my own foolishnes for saving a commoner from his own death.

Words came out from the guards and the corruption were exposed within the manor and most of them came from my father's.

Fortunately for them, they were pardon due to their history of allegiance within the kingdom. Except for me.

I was banished here to the Forbidden Lair of demons where no human ever managed to escape the place. Fear struck me until I cry my heart out.

I was naive, thinking I will be rescued and be taught by simple lesson. Just because of my former life's memory were I able to know them all.

My mind suddenly went dark and I lie to the ground defenseless from the possible danger I would caught to.

"It hurts!" I shouted due to pain. My head hurts, it truly is. The migraine I once experience is nothing compared to this.

As if it shambles my memories and at the same time replacing my brain.

It didn't take long for me to faint from the pain. Defenseless from the entire area full of monster and only the gods will that can save me.

The limitless void dominated the area I come to and wasn't able to comprehend my situation.

Suddenly, a masked person came walking towards me with no hint of threat. First I was wary or it knowing I will be in danger but soon change my stance when I saw it's full face.

It has a warm in it and a gentle smile.

And of course, it's a woman.

"Hello dear, did the pain stop?" It was gentle, soft tone coming from the woman in front of me.

As the light from nowhere soon illuminated the entirety of the room, I saw her face.

She's beautiful.

Cold skin with a hint of warmth giving a gentle vibe. Her gorgeous golden hair sways left to right while walking towards me. Her eyes visibly giving off an amazing sight with a purple iris stare at me.

A definition of a goddess.

"I am Freia, Goddess of Death and Creation. I rule this dimension and guide lost soul to where they belong." She bow and introduce herself.

Of course, the moment she stop talking my mind went blank.

Goddess of Death and Creation? What the hell is she talking about?

True, I do believe in Gods but not in a religious term but I never knew I would see one.

Wait, that's right. Now that I remember it, I was at my death's door when I faint.

Did I die?

The unanswerable question I just thought simply came across to the mind in front of my figure, the goddess.

"No, you didn't." She answer gently as if reading my mind. "I will make this short. As you can see, the person you currently possess had died, hence, you will be using his body. Of course, I will give you power to survive the cruel world as bonus." She wink after adding a little bit of touch from her words.

Power? Possess?

Words of unknown came to me as I felt unfamiliar towards this. Really, I never even dreamt of having an extraordinary event for my life.

"Well then, farewell." She said before my sight turn dark once again leaving me full of questions.

Soon, my entire body felt a sharp pain giving me a reason to scream out loud after waking up. To my left arm is a weapon, a scythe-like weapon with a texture of emerald but color of blue. Amazing.

But what felt really weird is an unknown substance flowing within my body. As if I were overwhelmed by it, it moves around aimlessly not knowing where it should go.

Three minutes has passed before I realized my current state. I survey the surrounding trying to check if possible threats may be nearby.

Thankfully, despite my ear piercing scream, no one seems to have noticed it, even the beast.

I crawl up from the place where I lied and slowly but smoothly able to stand up despite the painful aches running through my body.

Still, it's too painful to ease my mind so I keep on tightening my grip to the majestic scythe that magically pop up from my hand. I also used it as a support in order to not fall.

The overbearing pain keeps flowing to my body and as it move around, my head isn't excepted from it. Just like before, I felt an enermous pain nothing compared to my migraine I felt before I was taken here.

I held my head, trying to ease to pain. However, as if hearing my desire it stopped.

It magically stopped as if it was never there. The pain that just eased now felt as if a memory from a long time.

I was delighted, a sigh of relief escape my lips as the overbearing pain vanish.

Thank the Goddess.

With this, I will be able to focus on my surrounding. I may have surveyed the area before but I was unable to focus myself due to the overbearing pain. But now, I can even look at the tree three hundred meters away from where I stand.

Within seconds of analyzing the area, I was able to comprehend where and what is my situation. Due to my past memory, it seems I will be able to survive this area.

I can see plants edible enough to be treated as food and trees where I can rest. However, I find it weird. It seems that I can't remember when my past me died.

I see that the owner of this body died due to overfear and had a heart attack, but I can't seem to remember how I died.

I hold my chin as I think about the situation I'm in for a minute. And within those minute I wasn't able to notice that there's a threat that already intrude my vicinity.

"Put your hands in the area human or we will kill you!" Soon, a menacing word with a soft tone came from one of the people that lives within this area. The demons.
