I opened my eyes slowly, my head hurt so much, I tried standing up but my legs were wobbly so I fell back on my butt. It was already night. everywhere in the room was dark, I was left in total darkness, without a trace of light. I sobbed quietly, my heart was in so much pain, and my stomach rumbled out of hunger and I was feeling weak. Just then I remembered that the elderly woman from before brought in a tray,I used my hand to search the table and I touched something that felt like a bowl, I carried it and realized it was a bowl of food, I found the spoon and I pounced on the food. After eating I regained my strength but I didn't go back to bed, I sat down thinking about a lot of things, I thought about Drey, my mum and Shyla. I wondered how they'll take it and what they'll do. I continued my silent sobbing. I felt really sad, why must this happen to me? Why? Will I ever make it out alive? I sobbed deeply and held on to my chest. My heart ached so much, it was as if my heart was going to fall from my chest. I sobbed bitterly and drifted off to sleep.
I woke up to a bright light coming in from the tiny window in the room, I tried to adjust my eyes to the brightness. I sat up and went straight to the door, I hit it with all my might. " Please let me out!!" I screamed, but no one came to my rescue. I slipped down the door and sobbed quietly. Suddenly I heard a click on the door, I stood up quickly and moved backwards...
A young lady came in, she was in her early thirties. She was holding a white long gown in her hands. I ran to her and held her hand. " Please help me, I think I've been mistaken for someone else". I pleaded. " My name is Arielle and I just got married, I haven't even done my honeymoon" I sobbed. The lady seemed to be moved with compassion, she held my hands and said " madam I'm only doing my job". She pushed me away from the door and looked around to be sure no one was listening to what she was about to say next. " Listen, the person that brought you here really detest you, she wants you to go crazy, you must fight for your sanity" .
I looked at her with shock written all over my face. " What? What's this place?" I asked. " It's an asylum" the lady said. " The person that brought you here, specifically gave us an order to make you crazy". She added. I was surprised. Who would want to do this to me? " Do you have any idea who that person is?" I asked. She looked around and whispers. " Her name is Kimberly".
I stumbled on the bed at the mention of Kimberly, I never thought she would go this far. " Seems like you know her". I nodded my head. " Yes I do". I answered. ' look I don't have much time, if you want to stay sane, avoid drinking the water given to you". " Why?" I asked. " Because the water is laced with a drug that can make you loose your sanity in one week". She said and handed me the dress. " Why are you helping me?" I asked. " I don't know". She said and left the room.
