Chapter 8 - Chapter 7

Alexander walked out of Sophia's room, closing the door behind him. He took a deep breath and ran his hands through his hair, trying to steady his nerves. He had never felt so conflicted before. On one hand, he was filled with anger and hatred towards Charles, Sophia's father. He blamed him for the downfall of his company and his own personal losses. On the other hand, he couldn't shake off the feeling of attraction he had towards Sophia. He couldn't understand how someone he had kidnapped could make him feel this way.

He walked down the hallway and found his two henchmen waiting for him. "Has she eaten anything yet?" he asked them.

"No, sir," one of them replied. "She refused to eat anything we brought her."

Alexander sighed. "Fine. Make sure she's fed properly. And give her some clothes. I don't want her to be uncomfortable." He then turned and walked to the study he had prepared in the safe house. He needed to focus on his mission now.

He sat down at the desk and picked up the phone. He dialed Charles' number and waited for him to pick up. After a few rings, Charles answered. "Who is this?"

When he heard Charles' voice on the other end, he felt a surge of anger. "Charles Eugene," he spat out. "You're going to pay for what you did to me."

"Alexander Gideon," Charles sneered. "I should have known it was you behind Sophia's kidnapping. You've always been a vengeful man."

"You're the one who brought this on yourself," Alexander retorted. "You were the one who destroyed my company and ruined my life. And now, you're going to pay for it."

Charles laughed. "I destroyed your company? You did that all on your own. You couldn't handle the pressure, and you went bankrupt. Don't blame me for your failures."

Alexander's anger flared. "Don't play dumb, Charles. You know damn well that you were behind my downfall. You spread lies and rumors, and you bribed my employees. You ruined my life."

"You think taking my daughter will make things right? You're delusional," Charles spat back. "I'll find you and make you pay for what you've done."

"You're welcome to try," Alexander said with a smirk. "But by the time you find me, it'll be too late. I'll have already gotten what I wanted."

The conversation went on for a while and both men were angry and shouting at each other.

Charles sneered. "And now you think you can ruin mine by kidnapping my daughter? You're delusional if you think that's going to change anything. My company is still thriving, and nothing you do will ever change that."

Alexander leaned forward, his voice low and menacing. "We'll see about that. I will send you an address of where to meet me if you ever want to see your daughter again. And Charles if I don't see you here at the said time then I will send your daughters corpse to you. You know I don't bluff.

With that, Alexander hung up the phone, seething with anger. He knew that Charles was right, that he couldn't destroy him with just his daughter but he has other plans. He would never let Charles get away with what he had done. He would make him pay, one way or another.

He knew that Sophia was his key to getting Charles to see him so his plan can work, and he was willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen. He left the study and walked to his room. He knew that this was going to be a long and difficult journey, but he was determined to see it through to the end.

Sophia sat on the edge of the bed, her mind racing with thoughts of what Alexander had said about her father. She couldn't believe that Charles, her loving and doting father, could be capable of any treachery. But as she thought back on her past experiences with him, she remembered moments when he had seemed distant and secretive. There were times when she would catch him hiding away documents or making secretive phone calls.

The first time was when she was just a teenager, she had walked in on him in his office and he quickly shut a drawer before she could see what was inside. When she asked him about it, he had just brushed it off and told her it was nothing important.

Another time was when she was in college, she had come home for a holiday and noticed that her father seemed especially secretive. She had seen him slipping something into his pocket before they left for dinner one night, and when she asked him about it, he had just told her it was just a reminder for a meeting he had the next day.

As she lay there, Sophia couldn't help but feel a sense of betrayal by her father. She had always thought that he was a good man, and that he loved her and would do anything for her. But now, with the possibility that he had orchestrated her kidnapping, she couldn't help but wonder if she had ever truly known him.

As she thought about this, Sophia felt a tear roll down her cheek. She couldn't believe that her own father would do something like this to her. She felt so alone and trapped, and she couldn't help but wish that she could just go back to her normal life before any of this had happened. But as she looked around at her unfamiliar surroundings, she knew that that was impossible. She was stuck here, in this place, with no idea of what the future held for her.

She shook her head, trying to push these thoughts out of her mind. She couldn't think about that right now, she needed to focus on the present. Sophia stood up and walked to the small window in the room. She peered out, trying to get a sense of where she was but all she could see was darkness. She let out a sigh and turned away from the window.

She walked over to the door and tried the handle, but it was locked. She was trapped here, at the mercy of her kidnapper. Sophia felt a sense of hopelessness wash over her, but she quickly pushed it away. She needed to stay strong, she needed to find a way out of here.

Sophia walked over to the clothes that Alexander's boys had brought her. She picked out a simple white t-shirt and a pair of jeans. She quickly changed out of her pajamas and into the new clothes. As she dressed, she couldn't help but think about the absurdity of the situation. Here she was, a captive in some unknown location, being forced to change into clothes provided by her kidnapper.

She finished dressing and walked over to the small dresser in the corner of the room. She opened the drawers and found a few toiletries that had been provided for her. Sophia grabbed a brush and began to run it through her long, dark hair. As she brushed, she tried to focus on the small task at hand, rather than the overwhelming situation she found herself in.

After a few minutes, she put down the brush and walked over to the bed. She sat down and let out a deep sigh. She didn't know what the future held for her, but she knew one thing for sure. She wouldn't give up, she would find a way out of here. She just had to be strong, and stay focused.
