"Let's go" Luke said, coming to stand behind them.
Valeria took a deep breath before releasing it slowly. "Let's go turn some smiles upside down" she walked inside with the three tailing her.
When they entered, they were asked if they made any reservations by a lean man in an expensive looking suit.
"Yes, um… Remington" Luke replied.
The man nodded before perusing through a tablet for the name and whether its in a private room or not.
"I wonder how much they pay them. This man's suit be looking neat as hell" Sara said quietly to her companions.
"Neat and hell are contradicting words, Sara. How are you going to rule the business world if you grammar sounds like an elementary child, hm?" Julianne taunted.
"Oh wise and most knowledgable queen, bestow on this humble one some of your infinite wisdom" Sara said mockingly.
"Keep begging and I might just say yes" came the reply in the same sarcastic tone.
The man finally looked up and scanned the youngsters, they didn't seem to come from any prestigious family.
He beckoned on a waiter. "Take them to room 101"
"101?" The waiter asked surprised. He looked at the four who didn't seem to be rich or have any connections.
"Are you hard of hearing?" The man asked, narrowing his eyes at the waiter's name tag.
The waiter immediately understood the intention of the man and gave a 90° bow, hiding his name tag. "This way please" he gestured them to follow him and scurried away.
The four were led to a different floor which has private rooms with numbers on the doors. The room which had 101 on it was the last and a bit secluded from the rest.
"Can you tell us how much this room costs?" Valeria asked when they got to the front of the door.
"It costs about 50,000 USD per hour, ma'am" the young looking waiter replied.
A wicked smirk formed on Valeria's face. "Come on folks, we've got some entertainment to do" she pushed Luke to enter first, while the girls followed, she being the last to enter.
The young waiter narrowed his brows. 'What did she mean by entertaining?'
He gasped as though he realized something. 'Could they be those kind of entertainers?' His cheeks flamed as he fled the place imagining all sort of nonsense in his mind.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the door.
"Luke! You made it" Mr. Remington stood up to hug him when he noticed two girls standing behind Luke. "Who are these?" he furrowed his brows. "I hope you're not messing around Luke"
"Of course not uncle Jay, these are friends" Luke replied. He moved aside and started introducing the girls, "meet Sara, graduate of business administration"
"Hello" Sara said.
"That's Julianne, graduate of law" Luke continued.
Julianne nodded, her face bareft of any expression.
"And this right here", Luke pulled a last person who was standing behind the other two, "is Valeria, graduate of physiotherapy. They graduated today, I was gonna treat them but since you invited I thought it'd be okay to have one big celebration" Luke grinned.
There was pin drop silence as the family members looked at each other.
"Well, I think your nephew is an amazing young man. It's important to celebrate the success of the new graduants" a man wearing glasses, who seemed to be in his forties said with a smile. "Please come sit" he invited.
"Thank you" Luke said, then went to pull out chairs for the girls.
Thankfully, the empty seats were next to each other, except one which was next to another familiar figure who sat quietly, watching the exchange with a bored look.
That happened to be the first chair that Luke pulled out and gestured to Valeria to sit. When the newcomers had taken their seats, Mr. Remington also returned to his seat with a faltered expression.
"Now that we're all here, let's order shall we?" The man with the glasses asked looking at the last person, who nodded.
While they waited for a waiter, Valeria scrutinized her family members with a piercing look, making them uncomfortable.
Bianca pinched her mother under the table. She lowered her eyes to the table. She was absolutely furious to see the little witch. Her life had been better without her for the past five years and she would do everything in her power for the witch to remain out of it.
"What a nice day it is, isn't it?" the man with glasses asked.
"Indeed it is, Mr. Conner" Mr. Remington replied. He was in no mood for a conversation, not with his younger daughter sitting across from him.
He felt awkward, he hadn't shown a bit of concern when he found her missing. Seeing her now reminded him of how bad of a father he was.
"What university did you graduate from?" Mr. Conner asked looking at the girls.
"Brighton" Luke replied.
"Oh" Mr. Conner chuckled. Seems like this ones were also poor. He would have a good time with them, especially the bluish-silver haired one.
At this point, the waiter came in and took their orders.
When he left, Mr. Conner licked his lips excitedly. "Tell me your surnames, I might know a few people who work in your departments. I have connections everywhere you see" he chuckled and took out a small jotter and pen from his suit.
"Mattias" Sara said. The man wrote it down and looked up at Julianne.
The dark skinned girl stared at him for a while before opening her mouth, "Smithens"
Both Mr Conner and the other man looked at Julianne, who leaned back in her seat.
"Do you mean you're from the Smithens family?" Mr Conner asked, beads of sweat coming to form on his forehead.
"Did I stutter?" came the sarcastic question.
The man quickly shook his head in negation. The Smithens were one of the most influential families in Qinnstown.
He gave an awkward laugh, "then I'd have to ask you for a favor in the future instead" his eyes moved the last girl. "And you?"
She smiled, not an angelic smile, one that gave you creeps and shivers. Then she used her tongue to play with her canines which were longer than most and looked like fangs. "Yes?" she asked sweetly.
"Is your last name Smithens as well or Mattias?" Mr Conner asked seeing as the three bore a little resemblance to each other despite their skin tones.
"Guess again Mr Conner, the answer is closer than you think" she giggled, which pierced the hearts of her family members who were present except Luke.
"Haha" Mr Conner smiled awkwardly. He didn't know if she was also an influential figure. "I'm already old, all these guessing games aren't good for me. Please tell me your surname"
"My surname is…" she trailed off, looking at her father right in the eye, "Remington"
