A month later, the Banxi pavilion.
*Knock* *knock*
Liqiu opened her eyes at the sound of the knock, she glanced at Manlin through the mirror. Their eyes met briefly, Manlin pressed her lips together and turned around to stare at the door.
"Who could it be," Manlin muttered, setting the hairbrush aside on the dressing table and walking to the door. Liqiu stood and stretched, her eyes felt heavy.
She had barely gotten any sleep these past few days, the anniversary of her parent's death was a few days away. She is always plagued with painful memories and nightmares during this time.
She looked into the mirror and touched the dark bags below her eyes gently. She heard snippets of the quiet conversation between Manlin and whoever was knocking.
She was too exhausted to check who that was, things in the pavilion had been quiet since the Crown Prince's marriage.
