Madam Yu changed into more festive clothes before leaving the room. Liqiu carried the four-stringed pipa and followed her mistress to the private room.
They were stopped at the entrance by the Imperial guards who searched them before letting them in. Liqiu looked around as she followed Madam Yu into the building.
This was her first time in this part of the compound. Unlike the other private rooms close to madam Yu's room, this was much bigger and occupied an entire Pavillion.
This building contained multiple rooms. The sound of conversation, laughter and music could be heard from the doors as they walked in. The maid directed them to the private room at the end of the hall.
The guards let them in after they introduced themselves. The conversation stopped as they walked in, a young man which looked to be only a few years older than her stood as they walked in.
