Chapter 9 - Domination

All traces of the dead cultivator's body completely disappeared. On the other side of the arena appeared what seemed to be a young female cultivator with blue hair and what seemed like a drop of water marked on her left eyebrow.

As Xu Yue clashed with the female cultivator, she quickly discovered her fighting style. The cultivator fought using a water-style swordsmanship similar to the Water Drop sutra, only stronger.

The cultivator tried to capture Xu Yue in her rhythm and overwhelm her, but because of her experience cultivating the Water Drop sutra, Xu Yue easily thwarted these attempts.

Xu Yue began fighting more cautiously and started trying to preserve her stamina. She only attacked when her opponent made a mistake. The fight between the two of them continued on, and after several hours, the dynamic began to change, Xu Yue began a vicious assault, taking advantage of the depleted stamina of the cultivator.

From her two other fights, Xu Yue's understanding of the Origin Sword art had grown quite a bit. Even though she did not have time to digest her gains, her sword already seemed faster, stronger, and even more vicious.

Xu Yue began to use this as a means to try and improve her comprehension of the art. This dragged the fight out for two more hours. By this time, even Xu Yue was a little bit tired. The female cultivator was panting and her face was flushed red as she was being toyed by Xu Yue. In the past two hours, Xu Yue had digested her gains from the past two fights.

As she was battering the female cultivator, Xu Yue began thinking of her first fight, and of the swordsman's unrelenting assault. Unconsciously, Xu Yue began to imitate it. The female cultivator was now bloodied, and had several cuts all over her body. As blood dripped over her eye, she wiped it off. When she could once again see clearly, she saw an empty space in front of her.

She then saw her decapitated body going further and further away from her.

"So that's what he tried to do," mumbled Xu Yue as she thought of the first cultivator.

She then looked towards the dead female cultivator. When she saw something through her cut clothes, she saw what seemed like the same drop of water imprinted on the top right of her buttocks. She looked at it closer so she could get a better view.

When the artifact spirit saw this scene, it couldn't help but destroy the body of the female cultivator so that it could not be desecrated further.

Looking at the disintegrating body, Xu Yue couldn't help but ask.

"Is this cultivator still alive in the real world?" asked Xu Yue, trying to hide the wicked grin on her face.

"No," lied the artifact spirit, trying to preserve the integrity of the female cultivator.

"I see," replied Xu Yue, her wicked grin growing further, as she realized this female cultivator must be part of the sect.

Knowing Xu Yue's physique you would assume she will become detached from the world, but looking at this perverted, anger-prone demon, the artifact spirit thought that a Dao Heart tampering is necessary for the good of the world.

The third fight was quite boring. If this cultivator actually had a soul, he would wail in despair and commit suicide, He was someone who used the Origin Sword Style. His mastery of the style was greater than Xu Yue's when she came to the third floor, and now Xu Yue had even slightly surpassed him before they even fought.

This fight took several hours, but this was only because Xu Yue used him as a sparring partner for the Origin Sword sutra.

"It's really useful to fight to the death against those that train in the same technique," lightly said Xu Yue.

When the artifact spirit heard this, he had decided he would lecture that junior, Xu Chao, to better discipline his daughter. And do not let her come into contact with elder Feng Shuchun.

"This was quite boring," said Xu Yue as she looked at the body of the fourth cultivator.

Xu Yue felt that she improved faster than the cultivators she fought.

This cultivator from the fourth floor fought extremely aggressively, even more so than the cultivator from the second floor. Xu Yue had used him so that she could find flaws in her defenses before disposing of him.

Looking back at what was supposed to be a life or death battle, The artifact's spirit sighed. The thought that Xu Yue should rename herself Long Aotian appeared in his mind. He soon removed this thought from his mind. Even those trashy mortal novels dared not make a protagonist without any struggles. It then had a good idea.

Looking at the 12-year-old cultivator who appeared as her fifth opponent, Xu Yue felt a sense of familiarity.

Even as she began fighting and fully suppressing him, Xu Yue was in deep thought. But feeling the all-around near-perfect fighting style of the opponent, Xu Yue finally realized something.

Looking at her 12-year-old grandfather, Xu Yue's attacks couldn't help but relax for a moment. At that moment, two thoughts were fighting in her mind.

A moment later, Xu Yue almost wanted to smack herself on the forehead.

"Why am I so stupid?" asked herself Xu Yue.

"He's merely a puppet pretending," as she realized this, her eyes became ruthless.

As she began suppressing him, she realized something else.

"He is perfect as a sparring partner," as she realized this, her eyes became even more ruthless.

Ten hours later, Xu Yue was standing in a corner looking at her half-dead opponent.

"He heals too slowly," thought Xu Yue. She decided to not wait for him to heal anymore. In a moment, she appeared behind him and once again cut her opponent's head off.

The sixth opponent was the least miserable one of them all. His strength was his speed, so he did not have much to offer in terms of sparring. Because of this, his death was quick.

Fighting her seventh opponent, Xu Yue felt quite surprised.

"He's only a bit weaker than me," mumbled Xu Yue.

"He's quite talented to be this strong at this age," said Xu Yue while looking at the fifteen-year-old cultivator.

"I wonder if I will be able to meet him," thought Xu Yue while looking at the sword mark on his left eyebrow.

The cultivator tried to take advantage of Xu Yue being lost in thought. He used his entire strength to slash at her.

Xu Yue's sword blocked the attack, and as this happened, his leg smashed towards Xu Yue's. But at that very moment, he felt a massive pain in his leg, Xu Yue's own leg had smashed down towards his knee, utterly destroying it before he could do anything. A fist smashed against his chest, caving it in.

He knew that he would soon lose, so he stabbed towards Xu Yue, but because of the length of his sword, he did not have enough time.

He then saw his body becoming smaller and smaller as his head flew in the air.
