"W...What! Why are you still here?"
"You really thought that I was leaving?"
"Yeah, but I betrayed you! How can you still travel with me?"
"Well, in my opinion, traveling with somebody that you already know the true nature of, is way easier than traveling with someone that you're always worrying about around."
"Uhm... okay?"
I could easily tell that she was flustered due to my bluntness.
"Go on, you can continue eating."
We then went and finished the rest of our meal in an uncomfortable silence that I pretended not to take notice of.
It was only after we finished our breakfast that I finally took the time to examine this biome.
It seemed to be a wetlands biome with water covering over half of the land, with many islands of grasses and weeds, dotted here and there.
(A/N: If you guys want a reference, search up aerial pictures of the Everglades in Florida.)
'Ah, I remember! This is one of the only 2 "safe zones" that were on the entire map.' Which basically meant that there would be no monsters appearing here.
The two "safe zones' were also at the center of the map, with the rumbling closing in on these two locations.
Basically, the rumbling was the crumbling of the outer edges of the map, until only the center two biomes remained, akin to the "storm" that I learned about in my Game History Class that was often prevalent in battle royale games.
'But I guess we'll still need to keep going anyways, I mean, after all, I still haven't killed anyone yet."
There were probably other people that were already here, as who wouldn't keep the opportunity to stay in a relatively safe place where all you had to do was not mess up and somehow accidentally drown yourself.
"Let's go, we have some more traveling to do."
And with that, we once again continued our journey.
Day turned to night and then turned back to day. We had been moving forward all of this time, forging rivers, wading across ponds, and swimming across lakes.
It was only until the third day that we finally saw somebody else in the distance.
"Get down." I whispered, crouching down behind some reeds.
"Hand me your axe."
Onee-sama complied and gave me her war axe, which was actually bigger than my body, but I lifted it with one hand like it was nothing. I cloaked some mana around it, putting a silencing spell on it and then threw it as if it was nothing more than a pebble.
We watched as it soared through the air, making a beautiful, perfect arc. It descended down and before the player new it, it had already perfectly split him in half, not giving him even a single second to respond.
By now, Onee-sama had already gotten used to my inhuman feats and wasn't that surprised anymore, but she was still awestruck as she was a berserker which was the strength type position, and she had needed to lift the axe with both of her hands to move it around freely, but the man in front of her had just thrown the great war axe casually with a flick of his hand, making it soar more than 50 meters into the distance.
"Let's get the axe back." I said, snapping Onee-sama out of her daze.
We casually walked forward towards the fallen man.
Taking the axe out of the ground, I just took one glance at the body before I moved forward again.
This had not been the first time that we had seen dead bodies, as the 8th floor trial required us both to kill someone, so we both just thought about it for a second before leaving the two halves to rot in the sunlight.
We then continued forward, looking for people to kill.
...
By the end of the day, we had found and killed a total of 3 people. I had let Onee-sama kill the 2nd person so that she could also get some experience points and tower coins and I had killed the third person, leveling up to level 85 with that last kill.
(A/N: He leveled up to level 84 and had filled up most of the experience for level 85 when he killed all those sandworms.)
I then checked my status window.
[Player Shinubwa Lv. 85 (175,387,090 TC):
Strength: 37
Stamina: 57
Agility: 47
Mana: 47
Hp: 37
Perception: 47
Intelligence: 37
Extra Stat Points: 4
-------------------------------
Job: None
Titles: "Perseverance Maniac", "Millionaire"
Skills: Tactical Domination (S), Figureless Shadow (AAA), Firestorm (AA+)]
I had only looked at my stats to see how much TC's I got from killing the last two players, but it was only an abysmal amount, which made me feel a little disappointed. I also couldn't add in my extra stat points because all the status window functions had been locked for this trial including the adding of extra stat points.
'Well, it's not like I need to anyways.'
Turning my attention back to my surroundings, I watched as the sun slowly set.
"Hey, do you want to set up camp here?"
"Yeah, sure."
We then spread out our sleeping bags that we had gotten off the body of our second kill and then fell asleep.
It had been three days since I first took care of those horseshoe crab-like monsters. They had appeared every night since, always when the moon was at its highest. Of course, I had just used this timely event to farm exp, as they were relatively easy creatures to kill.
The only problem was that the mental fatigue was catching up to me.
There were literally little pockets of darkness under my eyes now and it was just troublesome keeping my eyes open.
The only reason I couldn't sleep in the daytime was because the sun was always so bright, making the sand super hot, so that I couldn't sleep anywhere, in fear of accidentally roasting myself.
"This is a truly devilish biome."
"Thud!" I hit something with my foot.
It was only then that I noticed the person lying on the ground right in front of me.
Right next to the person was a familiar elegant red bird that had an aura of arrogance around it.
'It's Liu Zhang.'
I stared at his sleeping face jealously.
'Ahhhh, that damn bird is probably absorbing all the heat for him.'
Not caring for any decency at all, I laid down with half of my body on top of him and then immediately drifted off to sleep.
