Chapter 22 - Many Lifetimes

On finding out that bit of information Diviya understood why she was attacked not too long ago, because she actually believed them when they told her she would be safe, well sort of. But that was just her paranoia.

She, given the entry mechanism was not afraid of the entity that was chasing her on the outside and with the rules in place for witnesses she really believed that she would be safe.

That's why she was petrified when she woke to that man in her room, she was so afraid for her life. She was not expecting that honestly.

Now hearing why, she understood that on normal circumstances she would have been safe and normal circumstances was if her blood was not sending people mad.

Either mad with thirst or mad with lust.

Dracul also promised to tell her more about mates and their world and how it all works.

Diviya felt cheery about that. She wanted to know about this world and the magical beings that live in it.

She smiles genuinely and thanks him, she was definitely interested in hearing more about mates.

Now she was tired and she stretched unconsciously, she was rudely awakened earlier.

Dracul observes this and offers to show her to her room.

Michael said his goodbyes for the night and he told Diviya he would see her around. Michael was a little sad with the turn of events.

He truly wanted to get to know Diviya on a personal level, one on one and maybe mate with her, he has not met his mate and chances of a Vampire meeting their mate is so rare. Wolves have more luck in that area.

And Diviya was the first person he actually entertained the thought of mating, as it stands that may not have even been an option.

"Bye" she says looking up at him, waves to him then she follows Dracul to her room clutching her bag.

"So tell me, what effect does my blood have on you?"

Diviya asks as they walked the corridor. She was curious to know if Dracul was affected by her as well. Though he was being very friendly right now, he seems normal. But she did not know if a part of him was struggling because he either wants to have sex with her or drink her blood.

Well Dracul was not a vampire so for him it might be something just as dangerous for her.

Dracul laughs, "nothing really, no effect, I seem to be fine," he glance at her. "I mean I don't want to bite you, or drain you, or force myself on you, or even burn you with my fire,"

Diviya giggles at that last one..

"Seems the only thing I want to do is keep you safe. The Demon King is like my brother and I know if he loses you it will be the end of him. I cannot have that."

Diviya snaps her head to his direction as she eyes him suspiciously, "Lies, I don't believe that, h..he just walked away."

It broke Diviya's heart just saying the words out loud and they burnt her throat making it feel sore and dry.

"He doesn't want me does he?" Diviya was not sure if she was ready for the answer especially if that answer was no. She looks away, looking forward again, but she had to know.

"And that's why you tried to stop me from going after him, keep me from making a fool of myself wasn't it?" She finishes finally staying quiet giving him the opportunity to respond. Nevertheless she was contented that she got her questions out.

Dracul was surprisingly caught off guard and he was thinking of the best way to answer this. His first reaction was definitely surprise!

He didn't want to scare her with the whole truth.

Besides it was not his place, she need to discuss this with the Demon King. But, he can give her a little insight and advice, without giving away too much.

"I recon he felt the same things you felt and he needed a moment…. Imagine someone who vowed to never love, or believes it will only make them weak and vows to never allow that to happen."

Dracul took a beat before he continues, "But then it just happened and it did in full force." He looks at Diviya now and offers, "These feelings might be foreign to him, but I wouldn't worry about it just give him time, he will come around."

This fine specimen was around for ages, he lived so many lifetimes never loving and ruling with an iron fist.

Ok well she didn't know about the never loving part but he was around for ages and he lived many lifetimes so she couldn't begin to understand or wrap her head around the hurt, loss and pain he must have suffered through and carried or maybe still carrying.

She felt a pain in her chest for him.

She wonders, Now what? He was supposed to let all that go on a whim or automatically be readily available? Of course it would take time for him. There must be scars of former lives.

Plus even if he acknowledged it, was she ready?

No, she was not and yet she couldn't shake the fear of him rejecting her.

However it was in that moment she herself realized she was not ready. In fact she wants to know who is after her, she wants to find out why her parents were murdered in cold blood and she wants to find out what she is and who her real parents was.

So no, Diviya was not ready for this.

Gosh and again that feeling of rejection is hovering however Diviya feels for him at the same time at what he might have gone through in his past life.

"Thank you for telling me this, my mind was already conjuring up the worst of the worst thoughts." Diviya gave a weak smile.

Dracul glances at Diviya "hey don't mention it."

They soon reached huge double doors on the right and a smaller size double door on the left.

Dracul turns to the small double doors to the left and opens them ushering Diviya into the room in which she slips in smoothly and looks around.

They then bid each other a goodnight and Diviya thanks him again for his advice.

Diviya's eyes roam the room as she leans against the door after closing it, lovely she thought.

Diviya's eyes darts at one thing, then the next, then the next.

The same colors of course but in different designs, the floor was tiled a shimmering white, the walls a shimmering white with gold lace pattern looking moldings, with purple on the edges, white ceiling with purple patterned moldings.

A king sized bed in the middle of the room was covered in purple and white bed spreads. Purple being the dominant color. With four gold bed post towering over, platformed, with beautiful sheer white curtains perfectly draped across the bed posts.

A massive TV facing the bed, a small fire place with white and gold moldings, below the tv, floor to ceiling windows with the same white and gold molding's and a small balcony, two doors framed with white and gold, that leads to what she was sure was the bathroom and a closet.

She moves from her spot and walks further into the room towards the doors, the first was the bathroom.

Diviya pushes the door open and peeks in, all white, clean and spotless. Even the golden edges of the mirror glistens beautifully.

She supposes the other was the closet, she ventured inside and it was empty, large table like structure in the middle. A pair of jeans and a top, underwear and a bra with a nice enough pair of flats was placed on tooth's table.

A dresser to the side with a large mirror and a fancy chair that matches. On the other side, a table with some chairs around it.

This room was just huge!

Moments later, Diviya was now curled up on the bed, she was tired but she could not sleep. Not yet….

Her mind was in a frenzy trying to sort through the day. Thinking about and understand one thing then the next.

Her mind drifts to the attack and she also recalls how she felt when that force left her body then went toward the 'Kind' that tried to attack her in her room back at the duplex.

She felt weird during and after, like a powerful force was moving through her, until it wasn't and it scared her.

But Diviya wanted to know more about herself and her gift. She needed to.

Diviya thought funny enough it took her being scared out of her mind for her gifts to activate and defend her. Then she wonders randomly is it considered a gift or powers? Ok gift, Dracul said the Moon Goddess blessed us with gifts.

Nevertheless Michael promised to help her so she did not dwell on that further. She can question Michael and learn as much as she can.

Then Diviya continue to allow her mind to let reality set in and of course her thoughts were back on the day her parents died, which was just yesterday.

July 21, 2875, just another Tuesday.

She felt so alone and yet not so much alone at the same time.
