Chapter 21 - Mates

Diviya didn't know what it means, what any of this meant. She eventually whimpers and a small sob escaped her lips. Her face contorted into that of confusion, bare frustration and she was just too tired and stressed out. It was too much.

She did not know what the hell was going on.

Diviya's mind now back on Dracul, she glances at him and thought to herself maybe he was trying to stop her from going after the Demon Alpha for a reason and look what she did.

She didn't even know what she would say if she had found him.

So instead she rushed to Dracul's side asking if he was ok while she still sniffle and her tears flowed silently, he was already on his feet, "I am ok, see?" He reassured her showing his hands.

Diviya tries to calm herself as she wipes her tears. However she couldn't help but feel extremely sad.

It was a melancholy moment for her. She didn't understand one thing that happened today. She was confused with what happened earlier just as she was with what just happened.

Then Dracul lift an eyebrow towards Michael, "care to share on any developments?"

Dracul was surprised because of the fact that Diviya was able to push him out of the way and made him stumble when she barely touched him.

They all grab a seat. Diviya sat on the one-seater with her hands nervously grasps the arm rest. She was still in somewhat of a lost state, which reflected on her face.

Dracul went back to the couch he was lounging on and got comfortable relaxing in a sitting position eagerly awaiting a response and Michael sat in a visitor's chair by the desk that he turned around to face the room, elbows prop on his knees as he was leaning over.

"Diviya this is Dracul, Dracul this is Diviya," Michael introduce them.

Dracul nods with a warm smile at Diviya and Diviya's green eyes darts to Dracul and gave a small wave with her fingers and a smile that looked more like she was in pain.

She was, not a physical pain but an emotional one. Surely!

Michael continues as he sits up straight, "She is not human," he pause and lets that sink in eyeing Dracul to go along. Because they already knew she was not human but they need to be careful and not scare her all at once.

Michael went on to explain exactly what happened as his baby blue eyes occasionally darts between Diviya and Dracul . Diviya had also finally relayed to them every detail.

Dracul demands "where is the wolf?"

"The two guards who were guarding Diviya took him to the dungeons below the prisons."

Dracul nods then says "the Demon King will surely need to be made aware of this."

"That is what we rushed in here to say but then the two of them had their moment, now we are one hundred percent sure they are mates."

Diviya gasp, "Mates." The word was a whisper on her lips. She quickly picked up on that word.

The Demon King was her soul mate.

How? She did not know nor was she sure of how she felt about that.

"It was actually amazing seeing our Alpha look so vulnerable, did you see the look on his face?" Michael continues then chuckles, a mischievous glint to his eyes.

"Do not let him ever hear you saying that, matter of fact do not repeat it." Dracul says calmly and there was no humor in his voice and his face remains masked with no emotion.

Meanwhile Diviya spaces out after hearing that she and The Demon King were mates.

Then suddenly, out of nowhere she started laughing.

She threw her head back and laughed and laughed unable to catch her breath. One of her hand now over her stomach, she just laughs.

Both Michael and Dracul was looking at Diviya a little confused, attention now drawn to her fit of laughter. But they were amazed none the less at their future Queen.

In that moment Diviya realized how cruel the world can be. She may have never met HIM if someone did not kill her parents?????

Diviya could not believe her parents had to die for her to have met her soul mate, for her to have realized she really was not human, though who was she kidding, she believed she would have figured the latter out eventually on her own.

Maybe, when she stopped denying it.

Diviya scowls in displeasure and disbelief nonetheless and then says with a voice that seems drained completely with a hint of edge to it. She had laughed out her last remnants of energy but she was disturbed by this revelation…

"So my parents had to die in order for me to meet him? If not, I never would have, is that what y'all are saying?"

She then breathes in and out, there was distaste about this written all over her and the words as well tasted pungent in her mouth.

"Is this world really this cruel to take away such innocent people from me? And if it did not, it would have been keeping my soul mate from me?"

Diviya just couldn't, it was really beyond what she was capable of dealing with and yes she still was rejected.

Of course both Michael and Adonis rushed on to convince her that never say never. Who is to say that they would have never met if her parents were still alive and was not murdered in such a manner.

Soon enough they had relaxed into a nice flow of conversation, Diviya had allowed herself to relax slightly and was learning more about mates and their bond. The magical beings were created by the Moon Goddess, she calls them her children.

She gifted each 'Kind' with their own set of abilities, strengths and weaknesses.

Each one of them is also blessed with a mate, someone that they are destined to be with, someone they were created specifically for.

Whom they eventually meet at some point in their life. Though there are some who come to this earth and died before meeting their mates.

(Diviya's heart went out to them.)

However those souls will be reborn again and again if needed, until they do meet. Reincarnation!

(Interesting.)

Each 'Kind' experience when they meet their mate is different in some ways and the same in some.

"Are there any mates that have met and chose not to be together?"

Giving the fact that she felt rejected she had to know if there was a possibility that they may never be together. What if he does not accept her as his mate?

She didn't know how it works and she was dying to find out now that the topic was raised because she now suddenly has a mate out of no where.

Like what the hell, it truly been a roller coaster of one thing after the next.

"Yes." It was Dracul that answered. "There are a lot of cases where mates reject their other half, sometimes it's mutual and sometimes it's not. What is the same is the terrible pain felt from the rejection. But, the excruciating pain does not last. After a period of time it becomes a dull ache, always reminding you that you are not with your mate, whether you chose it or not."

Dracul went on to explain that sometimes the pain is so severe that a weak magical creature may not survive the loss. This is also the same for rejection and when your mate dies.

Only if its death and not rejection and the pain is so excruciating it can take down weak or strong.

Diviya felt devastated at Draculs words. What if HE really rejects her? Can she survive the pain of loss? However she tried her hardest not to show how much that information bothered her.

However she still shifted uncomfortably in her seat. "Oh wow." Was all she could have gotten out.

Her brains was on overdrive with all this new information not to mention the day she had, that was still going mind you.

She also learned about Dracul, she even found out that he was the dragon that flew above them earlier and he has been best friends with the Demon King since 5000 DC when demons wrecked havoc. Bear in mind we are in 2875, so needless to say that is millenniums.

Dracul and Michael also learning more about Diviya, and they went over some of the rules for the castle, no wandering off on her own, yes she was in the castle, but there are still always staff moving about the place and they do not know who they can trust yet with this new development.

Especially the fact that Diviya's blood was like an aphrodisiac and also very alluring. A blood that seems to be affecting each of the different types of magical beings differently.
