Chapter 13 - Awestruck

The Demon Alpha strode to the kitchen and it was untouched so he moved on to her room. That as well was untouched, he still looked around, but nothing jumped out at him nothing spoke to him so he left her room and made his way back out.

Approaching the living area shinning his flashlight he notices a small drop of blood, very tiny no wonder he missed it the first time. He pulls out another zip lock bag and takes out a swab, he swabs at the drop of blood scooping a sample off the floor and he placed it in the zip lock bag.

The Demon Alpha got up and did a once over then made his way out of the apartment and decided to go next door. There was a door obliquely opposite Sharon's apartment. He stops in front of the door and knocks on it.

Nothing, so he knocks again after all it was wee hours of the morning.

After a moment, a young woman looking like she is in her early twenties answers the door and when she saw who it was she went beet red and wide eyed.

She grabs the door holding on to brace herself and with the other hand she clutches at her robe that by the looks of it she half hazardly threw on as she breathes "the Demon Alpha?".

Smiling down at her to be welcoming and not a scary Demon Alpha he says "hey there."

"Hi' she whispers breathlessly unable to talk.

"Do you have a minute to talk, it is very important."

"Sure, please come in," she says and moves out of the way pulling the door with her after she pulls herself together. She certainly was not about to refuse.

The Demon Alpha waltzes in effortlessly and she gestures him to sit on the couch.

The Demon Alpha smoothly lowers himself on the couch exuding extreme power, "What's your name?" He ask her.

"Clarissa." She gets out as she was almost choking from the power that she felt from him, it was suffocating and thrilling.

Clarissa moves to sit on the couch facing him and she is awestruck because she was in the presence of the Demon Alpha. This handsome devil.

She has been living here for the pass eighteen years since her family was abusive and she was taken away from them and placed into protective custody, only because her father had reach.

He was a man with millions and in the human world that meant power.

She came here at the tender age of four and now she was 22 years of age and not once she has ever been this close to the Demon Alpha. It was a privilege for her and she secretly loved him from the moment she first got a glance of him five years ago at a meeting they had in town.

She just sits there gazing at him wide eyed and in awe, maybe even in love.

"Clarissa nice to meet you, you must be wondering what I am doing here no?"

Clarissa unable to form words simply nods, the Demon Alpha did not take offence as he was fully aware of what his presence was doing to the poor young lady. If he wanted he could have his way with her, order her to spread those legs for him and she would but that is not what he came here for.

"Can I trust you? He asks.

"Yes" she breathes after a moment.

The Alpha Demon did not trust her of course he trust no one but he needed her to know that what he was about to discuss with her is not to be repeated.

"Well I believe someone is targeting witnesses." He got straight to it.

Clarissa's eyes went even more wide if that's possible as she absorbs his words. "What?"

"Now please tell me, did you observe anything today that was out of the ordinary? Anything at all?"

The Demon Alpha didn't want to get into the specifics, but he wanted whatever information she might be able to give him.

Nothing..

"Did you hear any noises coming from across the hall or sounds of a scuffle?"

Clarissa desperately tries to scan her brain to try and recall her day, she really wanted to please the Demon Alpha in any way she possibly can and right now she felt really important for him to be here. In her living room. At this time of morning.

Sadly she was at school all day and got home after six, her guardian might have heard something she thought.

Finally finding her voice she explains this in which he asks if her guardian was around and if he can have a word with her.

Clarissa nods as her guardian Joyce Peters was in her room sound asleep. "Let me go get her, please wait here."

She silently wished he didn't have to ever leave but she knew once this was over that will be the end.

She may never be this close to him again….

Clarissa really did not want to leave the Demon Alpha's side either but she had to go get Joyce. She quickly made her way down the short corridor and into Joyce's room gently waking her informing her that the Demon Alpha was here and he has some questions.

Maybe it was the blissful look on Clarissa's face or the mention of the Demon Alpha being here but Joyce rose quickly without question.

For some reason she did not doubt Clarissa and besides god darn it, it was the Demon Alpha after all.

She grabs a robe and pulls it on over her nightgown and quickly checks her self in the full length mirror attached to a small mahogany antique wardrobe.

Everything looks alright as can be, just her dark brown hair was slightly disheveled so she quickly grabs the brush off of the table and vigorously brushes out the knots from her hair.

Then she easily swoops it back in a semi low ponytail and looks herself over. Fully satisfied, well at least with the time that she had of course it was the best she could have done.

She then made her way to the living room.

Clarissa snaps out of her shock at her aunts behavior then starts trailing behind her.

Clarissa looked at her aunt busy herself and fussing over herself for the Demon Alpha, isn't she a little too old Clarissa thought?

Clarissa never once saw her aunt this flustered before, not even for the guest she entertains from time to time.

Clarissa's aunt enters the living room with a flair, and dramatically bows at the sight of him as she spoke. "My King!"

You could have sworn she did not just jump out of sleep.

The Demon Alpha was taken aback a bit. It has been a long time since his people addressed him like this, people on the outside of Velia Castle.

Plus he was never the one to demand being called their King as he did not feel worthy.

He was short one being. His vampire was still asleep unsure of when or if he would ever wake.

The Demon Alpha felt like he was not whole and an entire part of him was not there.

Because of this he believes himself to just be the Demon Alpha and so they respect him as the Alpha of all Alphas and he was quite content. Fought many battles too and won.

He is considered powerful, second to none and no one has ever outright challenged him for they fear him and his darkness.

But king?

The Demon Alpha regards her for another moment while she straightens and lift a hand and rests it gently where she can feel her heart beat.

The Demon Alpha stiffly nods in acknowledgment.

"My name is Joyce Peters and how may I be of service?" She continues almost breathless but she tried hard. She was a grown woman for Christ sakes she thought. She could be his aunt!

But then again she was grown so it could just be all that energy she put into her grand entrance and then the flourish bow.

Clarissa rolls her eyes regardless.

Not bothered as he just wants to be as polite and get whatever information he can, he straightens up a bit as he was beginning to get a little too comfortable on the couch the Demon Alpha gave a half smile and says.

"Hi Ms. Peters nice to meet you, I just have a few questions, I promise not to take up too much of your time." In which Clarissa wet her panties.

That half smile she thought was pure sin.

Joyce waves dismissively, "Please take as much time as you need my King and call me Joyce."

The Demon Alpha then repeats what he told Clarissa and asks the same questions.

Joyce searches her mind and she recalls a small scuffle, the sound of things crashing coming from across the hall around 4:30pm, she knew it was that time because re runs of her favorite sitcom just started and she started preparing dinner for when Clarissa would arrive at home later that evening.

But by the time she peeped out of the small hole at the front door she saw nothing.

"Thought I imagined the entire thing." She sighs. Disappointed in herself for not even thinking much of it to go and check.

She didn't even bother to open her door, she just stroll back to what she was doing in the kitchen while watching her re runs.
