3rd Person's POV
Hiding under the root of the big, tall tree, running nonstop so that won't get caught, she was panting and trying to catch her breath as she leaned her back against the hard root.
Felt a bit terrified about the thought of being caught, she tried on not making any noise. She carefully looked at her surrounding only to find a pair of hazel orbs looking at her direction.
She felt her heartbeat fasten as she stood up and ran again. But what she didn't expect is that the latter is faster than her. She yelped as she felt cold hand around her left wrist.
"AAAAAA!!"
"You got caught! Haha!"
"I hate you for you using your speed in our games, Aaron. Why can't you just ran like a normal one? I am not like you!" Loona exclaimed, still trying to catch her breath.
"Well, I am sorry, Loonie." he replied with a hint of sarcasm in his tone. "Just so you know that I am still practicing my speed as I can't fully control it yet. But in no time, I know I will."
"Yeah. Good for you if it that happens."
"It will happen." he stated, chest out and a proud smile.
"Whatever."
"On the other hand, I think we need to get home. It's getting dark already. I know this place is kind of safe for us but my father said that it's still dangerous for us to be outside late at night." Aaron said, started walking back to home.
"I know, I know. I have to talk to paps as well. Just got some questions to ask." Loona replied.
They started walking back to their camp and in just few minutes they already got there. They bid their goodbyes to each other before Loona opened the door and entered their house.
"Paps! I'm home."
"Hello there, angel. How's your playtime with Ron? Did you have fun?" the father asked.
"Yes, paps. But I just hate him for using his speed again. He caught me in no time." she said, slamping her back against the couch. "Why does he have special abilities? Like any other of us here in the camp? While us, we are being dependent on them. Are we not like them, paps?" Loona asked, curiousity is visible in her dark cerulean orbs.
On the other hand, Dan froze on his spot. He was thinking whether it's time for some explaining to do. He took a deep breath before walking down towards her daughter.
"I guess it's time that you'll know things. You are old enough to understand things so might as well share to you what you truly are." He introducted.
He stood up and run towards his room and after a few minutes, he came back with a necklace on his hand.
"This locket is what your mother left for you that you must take care of. I don't know what does it contain, but I know that it wasn't for someone who is just an ordinary. This locket is as special as you are, Nana. It's for you to discover the secret behind it because I don't know what secret it was as well." he chuckled.
"Does that mean I have a special ability too, paps?"
"Maybe? Perhaps this locket will give the answer to you in no time." he patted Loona's soft locks before standing up. But he suddenly stopped when Loona asked her a difficult one.
"Where's my mom, paps? Why is she not with us? You keep telling me that she went to a far place. When is she coming back?" she tilted her head, confusion visible in her doe eyes.
"Actually, she won't be coming back anymore." he replied.
Shock was evident on Loona's after she heard what her father just said.
"What do you mean?"
"I know this may hurt you, and you may get angry towards me for keeping it to you for a very long time. I am just finding the right time that you'll understand things, and maybe that right time is right at this moment."
He took a deep breath and continued.
"Your mother is a late princess. She was known for being the strongest of them all. She had power, beauty and she was smart. But what made me fall in love with her was because she was kind, loving and she had that caring and joyful aura despite being a warrior.
"Our relationship were secret, only the two of us and her trusted friend knows about us. We got married, she got pregnant with you and just a few weeks after you came to us, her trusted friend betrayed her us his mind were poisoned by your mother's father, the King.
"He knew about us, but he waited for a long time before he made a move. It's like he already had a plan before he tried to kill us. Your mother's friend is a traitor. She left all the power and responsibilities that was given to her when she was still a princess, we escaped from the kingdom because we wanted to live a peaceful life and to protect you, yet she was killed by that trusted friend of her.
"You only have me now, my angel, but I promise to give you all your needs and all my love and care. Your mother may not be here but she was looking at us from the sky. For sure she is smiling right now, looking at her beautiful angel sitting here in this couch and listening to his handsome paps." he chuckled and caress Loona's cheeks.
"Now that you have known everything, I understand if you would get angry towards me for keeping it to you."
"No, I am not. Actually, I am glad that you shared it to me at the right, exact moment. You made me understand things so why would I get angry? I love you, paps and I am thankful and grateful that you are my father." Loona smiled at her father and engulfed him in a tight hug.
"Hah... your mother would be happy seeing us like this."
They both laughed as Loona broke the hug and smiled at her father.
"Now keep this locket. I'm giving it to you now because I think you're already on the right age to handle and take care of it. It's for you to find out the secret behind it. Now come on, let's have dinner and take a rest."
