Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 2

The two continued their impressive bout of skill and determination. Trevor and Rocky proved their worth to each other, understanding their strength and passion for the game they each share a love for.

Trevor had three Earth cards on the field, three Life Points, and stern focused gaze. He was focusing on Rocky's remaining 4 life and her ace creature laid out on to the field- Amphitria, the Crimson Water Drake.

He was contemplating on a deep and thorough strategy, a plan in defeating her and landing him into the final round.

"I DRAW!" Shouting out after refreshing his stones, and untapping his creatures, and drew the top card of his deck. He looked straight into the card, recognized it immediately. "Thanks to my level of devotion, I summon -Bamboo Dragon, Dojimaru- with the cost of only one dream stone."

The Devotion system. Even in the domain of Duel Fantasia, powerful cards exist. So powerful that they require more than what three Dream Stones can offer for costs.

So how can one summon these powerful creatures? By showing Devotion; for each creature on the field depicting a specific civilization, the cost of any card in the hand can be accommodated for easier summoning and casting.

This is meant to encourage skill, to slowly build up a board for the final strike.

"Dojimaru skill activates: when summoned, I can select one creature to battle, and whoever loses is dealt one damage."

"Unfortunately, my Amphitria is far stronger than that weeb-snake."

"That's true, but you forget I still have two stones unflipped."

"Wait, what are you..."

"But flipping over another stone, I activate Poison Arrow. It lowers the attack power of any creature, weakening you Amphitria."

"No!"

Upon the mighty clash between the two cards, their duelists were able to picture in their minds what the battle would have looked like. A royal dragon of the ocean seas being defeated by a skilled bamboo-sword-wielding drake.

"With that, you now take one point of damage to your Life Points."

"Damn! I'm not done yet!"

"Actually, you are. Or did you also forget- I still have three creatures left to attack."

Rocky eyes widened as she knew what was about to happen next.

One by one, making the final commands, Trevor declared a direct attack. Each wave taking away one Life Point at a time, rendering the girl with none left to spare. She was done, the game was over.

Rocky, somewhat disappointed in her loss, eventually nodded in defeat- "good game" accepting it with pride knowing that she at least made it this far. Indeed, this was the end of the semi-finals, only one with great skill and prowess could have gotten to this point.

"We have a WINNER!" Said the announcer speaking from afar, officially declaring the victor for what could easily be seen.

Trevor made a deep breath, knowing already who the final opponent was. An opponent which he swore to defeat from the very start of this tournament. A duelist of greater renown- J.D.. But all Trevor wanted to do at that moment was breath, the pressure having nagged him throughout the entire fight with Rocky. He thought, for a moment, that he was actually going to lose and never get his chance to face his rival.

But now he knew. He won the fight. He won the duel against a powerful wielder of the Water Civilization, and was now soon to be against a master---no, thee master---of the Metal Civilization.
