Mason is slightly injured. He got hit in his head. That's why he has gone blank for few second. After some moment he gets himself together. Then he sees five people standing infront of the door looking at him and giving a devilish smile. He looks at the ground. He then somehow manages to stand up. He is already aware about the insane strength of those five people who are standing against him. He knows he might not get out of there. But he has to fight. That's what a soldier does. Two weapon like kunai knife comes out of his suit. He already declared those five people that he is ready to fight with them by his body language. Probably this is the last moment on Earth for Mason. He might not see tomorrow. Who cares. People say the one on death row sees his entire life infront of his eyes for a moment. Probably Mason is also seeing the same things. All sweet moments of his life, all those precious moments. That moment life seems like probably the most precious treasure that you never want to loose. Among all of these precious moments, one incident is hitting Mason's mind hardly. He doesn't know why that moment is poking his brain that much....
It was almost 5 years ago. Mason was assigned on a mission. That was an international issue. So OPESTM had access to put their nose into this matter. But not in a violent way. Mason with Andrzej, Desmond, Jafor And Nesar were assigned for this mission. They were sent to an Island with some of the upper rank OPESTM personalities for negotiation. There live nearly 2 million people on that Island who were not that much established with their economy and did a hardship for their living . Though they had a lot of resources and had a decent lifestyle but their politeness caused them a huge downfall. The predators of the world put their eyes on them. Took advantage of their politeness and sucked all from then and left them with nothing.
However people say it is hard to become humble when you have no food in your stomach. Same happened for them. They were no more polite. They knew the world would not care about them if they don't rage. So they took weapons in their hand and became rebellion. It was not a big problem for the world. But the problem could be many kind of terrost organisation or mafia were trying to take advantage from it. They provided them weapons and provoked them to go for a War against the world. So predicting the situation, the OPESTM and the whole world considered it as an international threat and sent them. All they wanted to have a talk with them. Understand the situation and give them some assurance, more like fake assurance. Because no country agreed to give them any kind of grants though the situation could get worse. But the world believed they would not do much damage. And moreover who cares about weaklings? However it was a strategy to capture them. Make them stop for a while and charge against them while the time seems right.
Usually four Elite Soldiers going on a mission together something rare but they them as a threat from the world. That's how the world works. Doesn't it? However they entered the Island. And when they saw the misery, Mason actually felt pretty guilty because on the same ground, that much ups and downs of life are the major failure of human kind. Still if the world is spinning, people will certainly have this ups and down. That's the nature.
Those people didn't show any kind of aggression towards them. Were they afraid of those Elite soldiers? Or were they really trying to be generous to them? Who know?
One of the man looks like a leader of them comes to the negotiator party
- We greet you, like we always did. What brings you here?
That much of generosity really shook all of them. Nesar were hoping for some aggression and he was kind of ready to release him at least a punch. But their generosity really made them soft from inside. But they can't show that. Because that might be a trick.
On the the OPESTM officer replies
- We want to have a talk with your leader.
- We can't take you to him.
- I can assure you we have been sent as negotiator. We don't have any intension to do any kind of harm to you or your people. If we wanted we could have already attacked you.
- Still we can't allow you to meet with our leader. If you have anything to say. Say it to me.
Suddenly a voice comes from behind. An elderly voice
- I see we have some guests
The man instantly gave him a salute
- Sir, you are here?
- Yes, why did they come?
- They want to have atalk with you.
- Bring them in.
They went inside their leader's chamber. Though it was a tent. Nothing to blame the whole place looks like a refugee camp. No one can say they live here. It's their own land. They have just passed their misery. No food to eat. All they have weapons to fire.
- So what you want to talk about?
The OPESTM officer comes forward and says
- Don't go on a War.
- Why would you care? Till now the world didn't even give us a damn.
- Can't you see the terrorists extremists and mafias are using you and your people?
The Leader keeps silent for a while
- You know what is the the difference between you and us? We see the sun raising everyday. We pray so that the also come the next day. But you don't. Why we do that? Because we know if the sun stops raising for a week, No human can live. We know they are using us. But Isn't fighting for your right better than dying in hunger? At least they provide us food.
The officer tries to inturrupt but oldman keeps saying
-Where were you people? Where were you all the time? The hardship we gave you where is the payback? Look at our history. Once we had everything. You, your seniors, the world sucked us, our blood to the end. And now we don't even have food to eat. Just because we were humble till our end? No one consider us as a country. No hands for help from you people. At least they are using us but giving us some money, some food...
Officer with a soft voice
- We will provide you everything. Please put down your weapons. As a human I am begging you...
That time all the four elite soldiers put their heads down out of guilt but the next moment they got themselves together. Because they are on a mission. They can't flow on emotion.
The old man continues
- Human you say!
Gives a mocking smile then again says
- One thing you should always remember human can't digest three things. Peace happiness and freedom. All they know how to gain power. But human's this bad habit gonna destroy the humans someday. That day all of you will stand like a helpless person like us. You'll look around you and all you can see the mess that you have created.. Then there will be nothing but regret.
Nesar with a rude voice
- Don't worry oldman. You'll also regret soon.
Gives a smile and says
- I'm already regretting. People worship powers. No one speaks for the weak.
Mason with a strong voice
- I object. People have their sympathy.
- Then you speak for us! Will you? Will any of you?
Mason's voice gets cold. All of them are silent. They knows they are not on the right side but how much human can have?
- You can't. Because you know it will also make your situation like us.
- So You're reject us? Look we will give you everything you want. This way you gonna die. You are gonna kill your people.
- You can't kill a dead person. And we're already dead. What could a hungry person hope for? Either way we are gonna get killed. By your hand or by those other people's hand who are providing us right now.
Now there is nothing to say for them. All of them are leaving. Mason turn around and says we were ordered to execute you if you rejected our offer. But your generosity saved you for today..
With a smile oldman says
- I know. They sent you on your warsuit. Doesn't it explains many thing?
- You sure oldman, you wanna go against us?
Oldman stays silent for a while then says
- The worst thing you are dying. The world is seeing. And they are just seeing. No one is coming toward you. No one is helping you. They see you dying. You feel helpless. But don't feel. Stay strong. Because there was no one for you ever. No one is gonna share you pain. Your loneliness. Your hunger. It was you, always you. That's what we learnt.
Then after a moment again says
-Let us be an example. An example of failure of human. After century one day looking forward they will regret, yes, we had powers. But we needed more. We sucked the weaker to get stronger. We had the opportunity to make peace but we didn't.
They said nothing more. They knew his every word meant many thing that they can't define, that they can't oppose. They turned their back and was about to leave the old man says
- A day will come I will stand alone. I will be the one who left my 100 companions behind and move forward. There nothing to regret. That is life..
They leave. They went to OPESTM. They had to report. They reported those people needed some time to think. But after a week those people went on an open war. They did a lot of damage to every country what the world didn't even expected but they didn't survived much. Almost all of them got killed but their leader got captured. He with a few last soldiers got captured. And court ordered for his execution. Before execution Mason went to visit with that old man. He said nothing. He just gave a smile. But smile maybe said a lot of things.
See, today I have no weapon on my hand. Where is your sympathy? Won't you stand for me? We shooted against you. That's right. But weren't you guys made us shooting toward you? You say we brought our destruction. You are doing the same things. Just you are blind to see that. Today I'm the weaker one and you are the stronger. But one day, you will find yourself on weak people's row and someone stronger will be infront of you. You'll leave behind hundreds of thousands of people and you'll be standing alone. On that time just remember me. Remember that smile. Don't do this to any other. Otherwise you'll regret that you had a time. A good time to have peace. To get peace and happiness. But you wasted that opportunity for the greed of power. The world needs peace.
Yes! Oldman, his smile today pointed the failure of humanity. After the threat the world got united. Where were this unity before? Why they missed the chance to bring peace in this Earth when they had chance. Today Mason is standing infront of stronger enemy. Today he is the weaker one. Just now he left thousands of his comrade behind. Soon he'll be left behind. Everyone will get forward. He is stamding alone, helpless. Maybe this is called Life.. He sees everything now. The fate of humanity. The fate of Earth and the fate of Megaverse. A day will come Everyone will regret.
His knives get charged. Then he takes a deep breath. Looks at the sky, gives a hard laugh and says
- Oldie, maybe I should have stood for you. I should have spoken for you. You won. And We.....?
