“You tried to kill me,” Alaris said to Ny'ka who was still on her knees, begging, tears running down her cheeks.
“It was a mistake. It won't happen again.”
Alaris smiled. “It won't.”
He held her wrist and pulled her up, but while he did that, he crushed her bones, and pressing his flames into her skin, he healed her, just like he had seen it happen with Nightshade and that stranger in the Castle during their escape.
It was an excruciating moment for Ny'ka and it didn't help that he did it again and again and again…
