“I am sorry too. I brought this upon you.”
He laughed, watching the torch he had lit with his flames, burning lowly, where it was hung on the cave wall. “It seemed I deserved it.”
They didn't say anything again, until she was done cleaning and was applying some ointment on the cut.
“My Mother used to do this.” He sighed with relief, closing his eyes briefly.
“The one of this Realm.”
“Yes.” He paused. “She was a Channeler.”
“What is a Channeler?”
“One that can create portals.”
“I thought you said she was of this Realm.”
“She wasn't of this Realm exactly.”
“Oh.” Her hands stilled for a moment, then she started wrapping the pieces of cloth where she could.
