That sounded so ridiculous it made her chuckle.
“What is that? How are you even supposed to know that? You don't even know her. You don't love her, you don't know her enough for that.”
His expression did not change.
“Her eyes tell me the instructions of the Luna. When our gaze met, I felt it deep in my bones that our souls aligned.”
That sounded even more stupid.
Just looking at someone couldn't be the defining state for things of such gravity.
Alaris' eyes glinted at Belladonna’s outburst but something about this didn't feel as entertaining. His smile vanished when he saw Eli pull her away from the bars, his eyes zeroing in on their point of contact.
For some reason, that was disturbing.
Belladonna was starting to get mad again.
