The dining table was surrounded with a lot of people. Some of which she didn't see the previous day. Grandma was seating at the far end of the table with Calvin's parents besides her. Leo's mother, Leo and his sister was seated opposite them. Calvin and Allison were seated beside them. A pretty woman was seating opposite them with a teenage boy, a smaller one which Allison guessed should be able ten years old and a toddler which she also guessed will be about six years old. A girl and boy which looked her age were seated after them.
The breakfast was quiet except for a few talks that the adults throw to themselves occasionally.
Allison was eating peacefully until she saw a spoon full of food in front of her face. The crazy guy was trying to feed her and she had to comply. She opened her mouth reluctantly and took the food. She also didn't fail to take note of the piercing eyes all around her. Everyone seemed surprised at the scene of Calvin feeding a lady, but he didn't care at all. Instead he continued feeding her, urging her to try every food.
"Try this, it's delicious. Grandma made it herself." He said lifting a slice of oven baked chicken to her lips. Allison shyly opened her mouth to take it. He continued feeding her ignoring the fact that she was shy and that people were staring at them. He even used his hand to wipe the sauce in the side of her lips. Allison brought one of her hand under the table to pinch him as if telling him it's enough but Calvin didn't listen to her.
"That's okay babe. I'm full." She suddenly said. Calvin was taken aback by her endearment but he loved it. If feeding her in the presence of his family would make her address him like that, he will do it every time.
"You are sure you are okay?" He asked her with a naughty smile. "I don't mind feeding you like this all day."
Allison's face burned. This guy really planned to kill her with embarrassment
"Of course I am." she quickly said.
"Who knew Calvin could be this cheesy" Leo suddenly said.
"Leave them alone " The grandmother attacked him.
"But it's really surprising. Calvin wouldn't smile easily with anyone, but he obviously can't just stop smiling right now." The girl seated opposite them said.
"Tell us about yourself Allison" She added. Even though her words were plain on the surface, Allison felt that they had hidden meaning underneath. The way she sounded and was looking at her told her that she is looking down on her.
Luckily before she could respond, Calvin beat her to it.
"Allison is beautiful, kind and smart. Everything a man could ask for. That should be enough for you I guess." Calvin said and gave her a threatening glare.
"Can't she answer for herself?"
"Don't push it Lisa." They heard their grandmother's voice warn and the girl went quiet but not before giving her a look that says 'I will see you later'.
"Calvin I would like to talk to you after breakfast." Calvin heard his father's voice but didn't say anything.
"Calvin, your father is talking to you." his wife backed him up.
"I heard him." was all Calvin managed to say.
Allison couldn't understand the war going on between Calvin and his parents. She felt that it's something very serious and she felt the desire to solve the problem, especially after looking at his mother's pitiful face. No mother will be able to stand being treated like that by her own child. She didn't know what happened between them in the past, but she felt that it won't be enough for him to completely cut off his parents.
Allison tapped Calvin under the table and gave him a warning look as if telling him to behave, but the annoying boy just ruffled her hair.
_____
After breakfast, Calvin went out with his father but not before telling Allison that he will be back soon. Allison was wondering what to do since everybody was chatting among themselves and she didn't think it will be nice to just go back upstairs. That's when the teenage girl she assumed to be Leo's sister approached her.
"You can hang out with me." The girl said smiling. I have a couple of movies I want to see and I will still like to know more about the girl that managed to capture Calvin's heart. Unlike Lisa's approach, this one seemed genuine. Even though she didn't want to talk about she and Calvin and cause more misunderstanding, she didn't have the heart to turn her down. The twinkles in her eyes told her that she wouldn't take 'no' for an answer.
"I would love to."
The girl broke into a lovely smile and immediately pulled her by the hand into the living room sofa.
"Let me tell you everything you need to know about this family." She said smiling. "My name is Sasha, I am Leo's sister. It's obvious you have already met him."
"Yes, Leo is a nice guy." Allison said and Sasha scoffed.
"If you really get to know him, I don't think you will be talking like that. He's really a pain in the ass." Sasha complained with a sullen expression. Allison couldn't help but laugh. She really reminds her of Kylie.
"That woman over there is my mom Margaret." She said pointing to a woman seated on another sofa giving instructions to a maid. "But I guess you already know that."
"I do." Allison replied smiling.
"That's Aunt Joana and her daughter Ivy." Sasha said pointing to a lady seated with her toddler in her laps brushing her hair. She was the lady seating across her during breakfast. "She also has two sons, Daniel and Derick."
"This is Lisa." She said pointing to the girl approaching them.
"Mind if I join you?" She asked already taking a seat beside Allison without waiting for her response.
"You shouldn't have asked since you didn't wait for her response before making yourself comfortable." Sasha said annoyed.
"Shut up Sasha. Allison here didn't complain". Allison felt trouble coming. She didn't really like this Lisa person.
"I want to have a word with Allison alone" Lisa said to Sasha. The annoyed Sasha couldn't even stand another minute with her so she stood up and stormed off angrily making Lisa smile in satisfaction.
"Kids " Lisa said and laughed. "What were you guys talking about?"
"She was just telling me about the family." Allison replied.
"Oh! I wouldn't blame her though, I guess you are not familiar with this kind of lifestyle."
Allison knew that she was trying to provoke her so she tried to remain as calm as ever.
"I am not familiar with the people here." Allison said.
"You don't have to put it like that, it's okay if you are from a poor family. You are not the first poor girl that have tried to hook herself with Calvin anyway. I am just wondering how you managed to make him care so much for you."
"I guess you have said everything you want to say. I will go and find Sasha now." Allison said annoyed. She tried to stand but Lisa pulled her back down. She would have slapped her hand off but she didn't want to cause a scene.
"I am not done talking to you."
"You are just bored Lisa. Find someone else to keep you busy." Allison said and tried to stand but Lisa pulled her back again. This girl is going to be a big headache.
______
In front of a balcony in the first floor, Calvin stood facing his father. He was obviously not pleased to be there.
"What did you bring me out here for?" he asked
"Who is that lady?" the father replied him with a question.
"She is my girlfriend?"
"Which family is she from?" he asked her again.
"She is from a family I find okay." Calvin replied uninterested.
"Is she worth it? You are a Bruce son. You can't just pick someone random."
"Anything else?" Calvin asked with a raised brow.
"We are doing this for your own good. Your mother and I have the perfect girl for you but you rejected her."
"I will be taking my leave now father." he said that and walked inside ignoring his father's calls.
He hurried to Allison's side but paused when he saw her with the trouble he has as a cousin.
"Calvin already has somebody so you are just wasting your time like all the others." he heard Lisa say. He immediately rushed there and grabbed Allison's hand pulling her up. His hold was firm but gentle.
"This is your last warning Lisa." he said and held Allison by the waist and walked her up the stairs.
"What just happened?" Margaret asked.
Sasha immediately popped out from the other side of the room.
"Lisa is just looking for trouble. I am sure she is telling Allison how she isn't good enough for Calvin." She said while glaring at her.
"What did you do that for?" Margaret asked.
"I just want the best for this family."
"And who told you she isn't the best?" Margaret asked. She knew that Lisa has always been mannerless but she didn't know that she will take it this far.
"You don't want to get on Calvin's bad side, do you?" Aunt Joana added.
"I'm just looking out for him."
"He doesn't need you to do that" Margaret responded sharply. "What is wrong with you?"
"I'm sorry, I meant no harm." Lisa said and walked out without waiting for their response.
