(A/N: The demonic dragon's name is Adalinda.)
"I admire you for your determination, but in the end, strong determination won't make you strong, so just give up and maybe my goddess will let you live."
"Why would I surrender to the goddess who did this to Earth?"
"She could annihilate you with the snap of her finger, and you're not scared, inferior human?"
"She may be able to kill us easily, but as long as we have the goddess Amelia, who gave us her power in order to protect this world, we will keep on fighting."
Louis bolted towards Adalinda as he cocked his elbow back before throwing a punch, aiming for her stomach.
*Bam!!
His fist hit Adalinda's, producing a shockwave that destroyed the ground underneath them. Blood glowed from Louis's pores, seeming to nearly shatter the bones in his arm.
"You're too weak. Just one punch is enough to nearly break your bones."
Adalinda karate chopped Louis's elbow, snapping like a thin plastic toy would've snapped when enough force was applied to it.
"I told you, you're too weak, but my goddess gave us orders not to kill more than one of you, so I'll be taking your pitiful life."
Adalinda bolted forward at a speed many times faster than Louis, appearing in his view off-sight as she threw a vertical punch at his chin.
*Bam!!!
He was launched off his feet as his eyes rolled to the back of his head, barely staring conscious.
'I can't die yet. I have to live up to the mission Goddess Amelia set for us. I have to protect the human race.'
Adalinda appeared above him with her foot directly above his head as she did a falling axe kick to his face.
*Cough!
Louis spat blood as he lay motionless on the ground, his bones broken from the impact; even with a partial dragon transformation, the difference was too great.
"You had so much potential as a dragon, but you chose to side with the wrong goddess, so I'll have to kill you."
Adalinda looked around, seeing that the other 4 heroes were restrained and facing the direction of Louis in order to make them feel true despair.
They struggled to escape from their restraints, but the other 4 demons stood next to them, making sure they couldn't escape or look away.
"I-I can't d-die yet. I have people to protect and save."
"Still going on about that, huh. I'll just kill you since you're getting on my nerves."
Adalinda thrusted her hand into his chest where his heart was and pulled it out, ripping it from his body as it kept beating with blood flowing out of it.
The four heroes were terrorized, which they displayed with their visibly trembling eyes and figures, unable to stop them.
"Now that our mission is done, let's head back, girls."
"I'd rather kill all of them, but Goddess Isla ordered us to only kill one, which is a bummer." A Lamia said, pouting as they all soon vanished, leaving the 4 heroes still terrorized and Louis's corpse lying on the ground with a hole where his heart used to be.
(In the god realm)
"Why did you have them only kill one hero?"
"Simply put, the heroes would have lost easily, so I made sure they would survive, since if the competition ended so quickly, it'd be boring."
"And your attempt at terrorizing them was to make them improve at a greater rate for the same thing not to happen again, right?"
"Yeah, you read my mind."
"Do I have to find another hero to take Louis's place?"
"Do you think I'll be that mean to make you have to pick another hero a day later after picking 5 already."
"Yeah."
"You're supposed to have faith in me, you know." Tears formed in her eyes.
"Can you tell me what your plan is?"
