Chapter 1 - Prologue

Legends tells that the moment the "Jeval", an evil monster whose only desire is to conquer the world and plunge it into darkness, is reborn, a hero will rise up to stop him. It has been 500 years since the last Jeval perished at the hands of the hero Lakko, but finally a new monster has risen to proclaim himself Jeval, and with him a new hero has been born.

"Congratulations, it's a boy," said the doctor, handing the baby to his mother to hold.

The woman was in the best hospital of the reign, placed in the capital of the same, although she was of humble origin, a vident predicted that her son would become the hero of the legend, so it was decided that she should be given the best possible treatment.

"For today you should rest, tomorrow we have to do the test to classify the power of your son," informed the doctor, before going out the door.

The next morning, all the women who had recently given birth were there with their children to check what magical power their infant possessed, something that in that world could determine the success or the failure of the child once it became an adult, in total there were four of them, each of them from a different social class, although equally excited about the possible future of their children.

The first to take the test was a brown-haired baby girl with brown eyes called Leanorah, the daughter of the ruler of a small duchy, the doctor placed a bracelet with a wire connected to a crystal ball, on her arm, immediately, the crystal ball lit up with a bright blue light.

"It seems that your daughter has a lot of potential, I'm sure she can become a great magician when she grows up," said the doctor, making the woman look arrogantly to the rest of the mothers, believing herself superior because she was the wife of a duke.

The second to take the test was a boy with brown hair and green eyes called Bardisen, the son of a simple farmer, no one knew how his parents had been able to pay for the services of that hospital, although there was a rumor that the child was the bastard of some bourgeois or noble, and he was paying for everything, what was known was that the farmer was convinced that the child was his.

The doctor placed the bracelet on the child, then the ball lit up again with a faint blue light.

"I'm sorry, your son was born with very little magical power, if he tries hard he may become a magician, but I'm sure he won't be one that stands out," explained the doctor, making the boy's mother sad because of the illusions she had, and making the duchess even happier for her daughter's triumph over the peasant's baby.

The third child to take the test was Shanex, the presumed future hero, a blonde boy with blue eyes; the doctor placed the bracelet on the child, and in a couple of minutes the crystal ball began to glow with a golden light as bright as the light of the Duchess's daughter. after, seeing the color of the light, the doctor could not help but draw a big smile on his face, while the women looked at the ball quizzically.

"Congratulations!" the man shouted at the top of his lungs. "Judging by the golden light, your son is destined to be the future hero," the man then reported, "And although I can't say for sure, he probably has the most potential so far," he explained, based on the intensity of the glow with which the ball had been illuminated. As soon as she heard that the son of a simple peasant woman was the future hero, the duchess was in a bad mood, and was about to leave the room, however, after checking the magical potential of the children they had to do other tests such as blood type or allergies, so she restrained herself and waited for the doctor to test the last child; Morgja, boy with black hair and golden eyes, and the son of the richest merchant in the kingdom.

For the fourth time, the doctor placed the bracelet on the infant's arm, as soon as he did, they waited a couple of minutes, then the crystal ball began to glow with a white light that hurt the eyes. The doctor removed the bracelet right away from the baby, at that moment, his eyes were still trying to adapt to the extreme change of light and all the infants were crying because of the intensity of the light.

"I'll be back in a moment," reported the doctor, leaving the room upset, the mothers were trying to calm their babies. A few minutes later the doctor returned with two doctors and three other doctors, and after placing two black cloths over the crystal ball, he put the bracelet back on Morgja, thanks to the cloths, the glow of the ball had dimmed, however, it was still more intense than Leanorah's or Shanex's. "What do you think?"

Half of the doctors began to examine the machine to see if there were any faults while the other half checked something in the books.

"Is something wrong? "Morgja's mother asked, concerned that the doctors were so silent about her son's ordeal.

The doctors did not say a word to the woman, and began to whisper things among themselves, after a quarter of an hour comparing results, in which the other mothers were getting impatient because they wanted to go and do the rest of the tests, the six doctors looked Morgja's mother in the face and the doctor who had attended her delivery took a step forward to tell her what he had been discussing with his colleagues.

"You see, I don't know how to say it, so I'll be frank, the normal thing is that the light becomes blue in the case of a normal child or golden if it is a hero, we have been checking everything, but there is no record of there being a precedent of white light, we thought the machine had broken after estimating the hero's power, but doesn't seem to be any malfunction either, so the only thing we can tell you is that judging by the intensity of the light, your son may become an Scholar, or even the leader of the Scholars, The Sage" explained the doctor with a serious expression. "That's all we can do for now, but as soon as we know anything else we'll let you know, so if you'll allow us, we have to do the rest of the tests."

The rest of the morning the babies had a series of controls in which nothing peculiar happened, while doing so the duchess and the merchant tried to approach the hero's mother, to try that in the future their children would end up being friends, marginalizing the peasant's wife because of her rank and the mediocre result of her son in the test.

In the afternoon, Morgja's mother was able to return home with her son; being greeted by her parents, her in-laws and her husband.

"How did the tests go? "asked the boy's grandparents, looking forward to a good result.

"The doctor told me that Morgja could become the leader of the Archmages!" the woman replied, causing the boy's entire family to get excited about the news and start celebrating. "In addition, I have met the mother of the future hero and the Duchess of Grinoire," she then reported.

"Can you imagine our son becoming one of the hero's companions? I'm sure it would make the Nera family the most famous family in the world," exclaimed the man, enthusiastic about the idea.

"Don't forget the Próvato family," said his wife, seeing that her husband had completely forgotten his surname.

"Of course, you'll see, honey, our son will take us to the top of the world".
