VARAY POV

Bairon led Arthur Leywin into a large open grass field, specifically customized to allow lances to spar at their maximum capacity.

They stood on opposite ends of the arena, both waiting for Mica to start the match.

"Let the match begin!" Said Mica, using a voice amplifier artifact.

Bairon created a spear out of lightning, and clad his body in it. He then sprinted towards Arthur Leywin, who now had piercing lavender eyes, white hair ending in orange, and most importantly, some sort of runes running all around his arms.

I noticed Arthur Leywin cast an ice spell, a super thin but extremely dense armor made of pure ice enveloped his entire body. Interesting

When Bairon finally got close enough for melee combat, Arthur wasted no time. He blurred, even to my own eyes, as he bombarded Bairon with slashes.

Bairon was completely overwhelmed, not getting a single chance to attack.

As if it wasn't enough, Arthur Leywin infused his sword with the wind attribute, sending a sharp wind blade with each one of his slashes.

Bairon fired balls of pure electricity whenever he could, but they were easily blocked by Arthur Leywin.

As a last desperate measure, Bairon struck the ground with his lightning infused fist, sending bolts of lightning everywhere in a large radius. This gave him a little bit of breathing space, conjuring tens of orbs of pure lightning, and a dome field with a diameter of about 50 meters around both of them.

ARTHUR LEYWIN POV

Lance Bairon was much more impressive than I thought. He was faring very well against my relentless onslaught.

I think it's time I had a little fun too

[Godspeed Impulse]

This was a much more powerful version of Thunderclap Impulse I devised when fighting against Uto. Using a combination of purple lightning and air magic, I created a vacuum around myself, stopping the air from impeding my movement.

Of course, this field was temporary, but I could get around it by making a small air bubble around my head.

I shot into the sky, harmlessly passing through Bairon's lightning dome as my own lightning overpowered his with ease, raining meteorites created by attaching what was basically a much more powerful jet engine to a large boulder and strategically decreased and increased its gravity to achieve best acceleration. Multiple tornadoes ravaged the supposed Lance proof floor, tearing out chunks of dirt and rock and milling them to tiny pieces, achieving perfect blending capabilities.

As Bairon was desperately trying to fend off the seemingly endless meteorites and dodge multiple blenders, lance Varay stepped in.

She reminded me of Kathyln, rarely showing emotion on her face. "That's enough, I think we've basically all seen what you can do and that you are credible."

"Thank you for the fight, Lance Bairon." I said as I extended a hand.

Accepting the handshake, his next words shocked me. "Although I hate to throw away my pride, I don't think that even all the lances combined could stand a chance against you."

As we were leaving, a woman, possibly a secretary came running down the corridor.

"The Xyrus academy is in trouble! Unknown attackers have breached the grounds!" She said, with obvious panic in her face.

'Papa, let's go!' Said Sylvie, who I picked up and put on my shoulder.

Unleashing my full power, I instantly shot off towards the academy.

KATHYLN POV

during the training

"Huh? Why is the barrier red?" Claire asked

Fey fey turned to Kai "Haha, nice joke. How about you let us out now?"

After a few seconds where Theodore tried to punch himself out of the situation as always, I said

"Stop wasting mana. There's a kill switch somewhere."

"Ah, you're right" Claire said as she reached for the kill switch.

"It should be right he-" We all froze in terror, someone ripped out the kill switch.

"Attack incoming!" Roared Claire, getting into a fighting position, as a dozen unknown attackers breached the barrier.

Me and fey fey started to cast water spells, while Theodore, Claire, Curtis and Doradrea rushed in close, slashing, punching or otherwise maiming their opponents.

"Move forward! We have to get through the opening and help Kai!" Yelled Claire

A crazed yet oddly familiar voice filled the room. "You still don't get it, do you? Kai is the one that trapped you all here."

Many of us called lies, however I could tell he was sincere.

"Why would I lie, what I can squash you bugs so easily?" He said, as he blurred and suddenly appeared in the middle of the room.

An explosion of fire created by Lucas knocked us all to the edge of the barrier. Theodore, Doradrea and even Claire all couldn't stand a chance. When suddenly

DOOM

An immense pressure washed over us, some of the attackers fainting.

A figure suddenly appeared, swiftly drilling his teal blade into Lucas's shoulder.

I immediately recognized him, both by his teal blade and the over the top entrance. "Arthur?"

"Sylvie, make sure they're unharmed and don't leave this building." His tone was cold, almost like a king.

His bond made her way towards me, falling quickly asleep on my lap.

"But Arthur, we can help! What is the disciplinary committee for if not helping students! I'm sure there's something we can do!" protested Claire

Not answering, Arthur, along with the bleeding out Lucas disappeared.

ARTHUR LEYWIN POV

I took Lucas to a remote location, far away from the battle, putting ice and earth restraints on him. "Stay here, I'll deal with you later."

I ran around the academy, killing anyone who was part of the attackers. Tch, even some of the professors joined in, how despicable.

I soon reached the main plaza, with a strange masked man standing in a barrier.

"AHEM AHEM, TEST- ARRGHHGH" His barrier cracking easily, I held him by the neck.

"Oh did I interrupt you? I apologize. Here, I will let you say your final words." I let go of his neck, grabbing his hair and aggressively shoving him into the microphone.

"KILL HIM! WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU IMBECILES!" He said, trying to blast me with fire magic.

"They're long dead." I said, stabbing my sword in his chest. "And so are you."

As soon as I killed him, I returned for Lucas and threw him on the cold floor of the plaza.

"This, ladies and gentlemen, is Lucas Wykes, the brother of lance Bairon Wykes, and a filthy traitor." I said, stabbing my sword into his thigh, and twisting.

"AAARGH-"

"Shut up, it's impolite to scream when someone's talking." I said as I used sound magic to nullify his screams.

"Kill him already!" "Yeah, kill that son of a bitch!" Screams erupted from the crowd.

[Downforce], [Downforce], [Downforce]

Both his legs were shattered into tens of pieces, parts barely clinging onto him.

"YOU CAN'T DO THIS! I'M LUCAS WYKES!" Lucas screamed in agony, blood and tears leaking from his face.

"Actually, I kind of can." I placed my foot on his chest. "Goodbye"

I increased my gravity a hundredfold, stomping on his chest, cheers coming from every direction.

As soon as everything was over, Sylvie and the rest of the disciplinary committee came out of the room.

Suddenly, Sylvie transmitted shock along with 'behind you papa!'

I instantly activated Godspeed Impulse, as an overwhelmingly strong lightning strike slowly approached me. Extending my arm, I created a vortex of ice, stopping the attack in its tracks entirely.

A vine of earth pulled Bairon down, and ice shackles bound him, unable to move.

"Step down Bairon, you are attacking the savior of this academy." Said lance Varay, landing in front of me.

"Thank you for saving them." She said, bowing. "Without you, we would have gotten here late and there would be an uncountable number of casualties."

"It is still murder, we could have put him in prison! But he mercilessly murdered him!"

I let out some of my bloodlust, saying "I didn't take you for a hypocrite, lance Bairon. Didn't you just try to mercilessly kill me a few moments ago?"

"Tch" he scoffed, looking away.

I could sense Kathyln walking towards me, as I turned around, she said

"Thank you so much. Without you, I don't know what we would have done." and pulled me into a hug.

As I was walking to the front gate, where my parents were, I could hear murmurs of other students.

"He just blocked an attack from a lance effortlessly."

"Yeah, how did he do that?"

"Maybe he's a new lance in training?"

...

"At last, we finally have a bit of privacy to peacefully converse," a voice rang in my ear.

As soon as it spoke, the space around us began warping. Sylvie's trembling became so severe that I couldn't keep her perched on my head and had to hold her firmly in my arms.

Suddenly, in the midst of the chaos that was forming around us, we were in a blank white room.

A man appeared in front of me.

"Greetings. I go by Windsom," The man sniffed deprecatingly.

The man that had transformed from a cat spoke with an elegance that matched his appearance. On the top of his sculpted face was a bed of short platinum blond hair that was neatly swept to the side. His deep-set eyes, that had not changed from when he was a cat, almost seemed to touch his permanently furrowed brows. There was a sense of nobility in his gaze as he continued to lock onto me.

While neither burly nor muscular, his square shoulders, underneath a military-like uniform he somehow had conjured on after transforming, told me he was a warrior... a fighter like myself.

His thin lips tightened as he let out another sigh of disapproval through his sharp nose. Peering down at Sylvie and I, he spoke again.

"I felt this form would be more appropriate for our conversation," the man announced matter-of-factly.

"Now, let's talk about why I brought you in here." Windsom waved his hand, showing an illusion depicting the world.

"You are a citizen of Dicathen, but it is no longer a secret that it is not the only continent on the planet. Dicathen and Alacrya have always been governed by us, those who reside in the land of Etheopus. Though you lesser races have regarded us as 'Deities', we call ourselves 'Asuras'."

Wait, does he not know I am also an Asura? Am I somehow cloaked?

"But I don't understand what it's got to do with me?" I said, confused as my theory that they sought me out because I was like them crashing and burning with the revelation that they don't know.

"You're right, it shouldn't have anything to do with you. But you must now be aware because of your ties to us."

Windsom enveloped Sylvie in a green light, transforming her from a white fox into her dragon form.

"We've been searching for lady Sylvia for years... And when we finally found traces of her mana, it led us to a boy who held a deity in his arms. Arthur, you are currently bonded with the child of my master's only daughter, and the granddaughter of the most powerful being in all of the three continents of the world."

He stopped talking for a few seconds, letting it sink in, probably for the dramatic effect or something.

"Lady Sylvia's daughter's co-"

"Her name is Sylvie" I interrupted

Clearing his throat, Windsom continued.

"Lady Sylvie's core is still underdeveloped, and we have found signs of Agrona's spies already on this continent. There is a war coming, and although the upper echelons of Epheotus will never admit it out of pride, your connection with lady Sylvia can play a crucial role in this."

"As long as you agree to be our ally, there will be no need to separate you from lady Sylvie."

"I will have to be your ally regardless, so what you're really asking is if I'm willing to be a pawn under control."

"You're wise for your age, Arthur, and your mana core is rather well developed. But once you and lady Sylvie arrive in Etheopus, we will be able to train you with-"

"What? We have to go to Epheotus?" I asked, flabbergasted

"Yes, lady Sylvia's power that even Asuras would kill for, lies inside you barely tapped. Epheotus is the only place you will be able to learn how to harness your potential, so that you and lady Sylvie can grow stronger. Tell your goodbyes to your family, we will be departing in an hour."
