Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

In the morning girls were shouting but staying in their pajamas because what was the point of getting ready for the day when in a few measly hours they would be getting ready for the dance. Breakfast went faster than normal and everyone was getting along. When all the food was scarfed up we went into Tony's place for one more life lesson session. The Team members droned on about safety, following all of the rules, not allowing boys or girls to be in each others cabins, and reminding us all to have fun. Lunch rolled around and disappeared so fast you could barely tell that it even had happened, then we were once again reminded of the rules and released to get ready.

The hours day was spent with girls curling there hair and painting there nails. I sat on my bed with my head buried in a book. Once again my friends tried to beg me to come and accept Chris' proposal, but I stood my ground and after a while they left and I curled up in my bed. I had shot Chris a text when the girls had started getting ready because I really did not feel the need to go to a popularity even. I had stated that I would love to be his friend but I could not accept his question. It was not because I was mad at him I just did not have the energy to go to an event and socialize at the moment. After three minutes of reading my awesome book that I just had to finish, my cabin door burst open.

"Go away friends, I don't want to go to the dance. I am enjoying my amazing book in a quiet environment for once." I said as I groaned.

"Well that's too sad because you are going to the dance with me" Chris said as he barged into my room. I instantly smiled and got up.

"Get into that dress and grab my hand" He said with a smirk. I got a bad feeling that he wasn't going to let me just sit in my bed and read for two more hours with the look he had on his face. I sighed and dragged him out the door so I could change into that dress.

"Fine but you owe me, I want lots of chocolate on my plate." I said as I pushes him out. In five minutes I had changed, straightened my hair and put my makeup on. I didn't get how it took five hours to get ready for most girls. I put on some sneakers and opened the door again to find Chris waiting patiently. He looked up and gasped.

"What do I have on my face" I was scared. Did I look like an absolute mess in front of him.

"No you look perfect. I just didn't think it would take you that fast." He said with his beautiful smile. Wait he was smiling. Not smirking. I loved his smile. I took his outstretched hand and we ran together to Tony's place. Just before we got to the doors he stopped me and faced me with a nervous look in his face. Chris never got nervous. He was the cocky guy that all the guys wanted to be and all the girls wanted. He had never had to be nervous so why was he now. I looked into his big blue eyes and soon his lips were on mine. I froze. He was kissing me. Chris was kissing me. Me. After I got over my shock I kissed him back. I could feel him smile as he kissed me. After we were done he held the door open for me and we walked in hand in hand. It was like time stood still and everyone stopped dancing and looked at Chris and I. My friends screamed and ran to Chris and I, and I heard the last thing I expected to come out of Estelle's mouth since she never says anything.

"Thank you so much for getting her a life. She needs it and now she can have fun" Estelle said with happiness. We all gasped. Estelle had never said so much as five words maximum let alone 18 loud enough to let any boy hear.

"What did you think I couldn't talk?" She said smiling. After a while of us being silent she said "wait did you actually think that I couldn't talk"

"Well kinda" Paris said with a small smile. We all laughed and Perfect by Ed Sheeran. I looked at Chris and he pulled me to the dance floor. We talked the whole time. The night ended way too soon and it was time for bed at 11 o'clock.

Chris kissed me goodnight and I went inside Jubilee Hall. As soon as I was in my cabin I was surrounded by at least 30 girls.

"Are you and Chris dating"

"How did he kiss you, was there a little tongue"

"Was it nice"

"How are you guys going to live a long distance away from each other?" There were so many questions to answer, but I did answer as much as I could.

"I have no idea. The kiss was sweet and there was no tongue. I do not think we will do the long distance thing because it is just one night. Camp is a fantasy and tomorrow we all have to go back to life and get ready for school." After that I went to bed with a smile as the events from today went on and on in my head.

I felt a light tap on my shoulder in the middle of the night. As soon as I didn't respond then the person started to shake me a little more but still softly. I opened my eyes to meet Chris's beautiful blue ones. I smiled and got up.

"You really should not be here. Remember the rules. What happens if we get caught?" I asked

"I want to go to the bathroom and watch movies like old times," He said. We had only done this one other time in elevens week cause I couldn't fall asleep and I caught him on the first night, he was about to pull a prank on one of my friends who was like a sister to him but had not because I was awake and had distracted him. I hadn't stopped him even though I should have. We went to the bathroom and watched videos till a few minutes before the bell was going to wake up every night but I also put an alarm on just in case we both fell asleep. I tended to fall asleep only when I felt safe with someone. It had become our tradition that week and I guess it never stopped because every week we were together we did it if one of us couldn't sleep. Every week until the day of the dance last year.

As the first movie started I could feel my eyes getting heavy again so I laid my head on his shoulder and let the sleep consume me. I did not have to be awake because he was. We never woke up the other person if they fell asleep because their presence just being with us was enough to calm us.
