"Perfect, because I lost my respect for you too" He seconds me firmly and I just stand there inert, watching him with my own version of rudeness: "I always thought you were the strongest young lady that existed on earth, Emily. When you decided to go off on your own to London on a scholarship to that university, I thought you were the best thing I had ever given birth to."
"Great, thanks for what I got mother" Says Darla inopportunely but Salma doesn't peel her off. Instead, she continues with her gaze on me as my little sister watched us from behind.
"But now I realize it's not like that. You grew up and changed, so much so that you disrespected not only your family by lying to us, but also your values by marrying this man you barely know just out of interest."
"Which is not interest."
