Emily POV
"But you are putting him above your happiness."
"He is my happiness Emily" She reiterates, with her eyes narrowed and somewhat already crystallized: "If I left him, I would be sadder than I am now."
By reflex, I see behind him the brown hair who was chatting pleasantly with another woman without realizing that his fiancée was here suffering in silence, which inevitably made me question what was so good that someone like him could have deserved the devoted love of someone like Amelia.
"I know what you think" She breaks into my silence, making me return my gaze back to her: "I know Harry can be a jerk, greedy, self-serving, mean-spirited jerk that only his father likes. But I love him, Emily, I know him well and I know he has qualities that make me love him it's just that... sometimes he doesn't let them show so easily. "
"He's never let them show" I replied referring to those heavenly qualities Amelia was referring to and which of course, I had never realized.
