Emily POV
"You lied to me" I mention the obvious: "Over and over again. Even though I asked you on many occasions, you dared to lie to my face. What does that make you Nathan?"
I asked that question with my features as hardened as possible, looking him in the face with superiority and above all allowing him to feel all the contempt that was choking my veins. In response, his worn face kept him innocuous without too much reactivity or any gesture that would give me a sign of what he planned to say but instead, his intense gaze on me gave perhaps the most concrete answers. His silence was a sign that he knew I was not lying, and that in reality that was how things had happened.
With one lie after the other, turning the snowball bigger and bigger until it finally rolled over us.
"You're right then" He clears his throat after a long moment of awkward silence and lowers his gaze: "But it wasn't all lies Emily, and not always my intentions with you were bad."
"Cliché."
