Emily POV
"Do you want me to drop you off at the university?" he offers but I refuse. According to my ally's plan, the last thing I needed at this point was to stay in Nathan's company: "So do you want to take the subway?"
"I have to go to Lana's first and that's in the opposite direction of the hangar, I don't want to delay you too much actually" My mind machines a quick answer and he nods looking convinced.
He opens the car door and stuffs his briefcase with some personal stuff in it. Before getting into the car he turns around and takes my cheeks in his hands devotedly admiring my face as he repeats once again to try to keep me alive while he arrives. The guy ironically felt he was leaving home not his girlfriend but a pet.
"You make me feel useless when you look so concerned about my independence" I confess.
