Emily POV
"I know" The traffic light turns red and he takes the opportunity to squeeze my leg one more time. He looks up from his seat and puts his thumb on my chin: "I love you too."
My heart races and my face lights up with a smile from ear to ear.
"I love you so much" He corrects and runs his hand up to my cheek, cooing my face with it. We stay like that for a good few seconds, looking into each other's eyes and I symbolically feel our relationship strong with that simple gesture.
The impertinent stoplight changes and the cars behind us begin to clap their horns at the elapsed second. We laugh at the timelessness of the universe and after sticking his hand out of the window to show the middle finger to the cars behind us, Nathan starts back on the road to my high school, where he was supposed to drop me off.
