Emily POV
"You are a romantic but you have to be objective Nathan, they will all go with their expensive designer stuff and I can't be the only one wearing a simple cardigan" I whimper and watch him roll my eyes, instinct I hit one of his arms wrapped around me.
"I don't understand why you want to go to that coven in the first place" I whine.
"They're my friends Nathan."
"No, they aren't."
He assures me in a neutral, almost hoarse tone. I turn to face him and wrap my arms around his neck, forcing our faces to stare at each other.
"If they aren't, they pretend to be just fine" I steep on the tips of my toes and give him an Eskimo kiss to our noses: "I've been avoiding Carla's invitation to that coffee for a full month, if we want this to work I must accept that coffee someday."
"You shouldn't, you just want to and I don't understand why" She lifts her hand and combs the baby hairs over my ear.
My dark secret, I wanted to fit in with Carla's high-class girls.
