Emily POV
As I try to get more comfortable in my seat, I feel Nathan move his hand away from my leg, leaving that space exposed to the cold, and that does end up bringing me out of my state of unconsciousness. As I slowly open my eyes, I see outside that we are already in the basement of the building, the car is parked in our space, and Nathan's eyes are intently on me.
Without mumbling a word, swallowing dryly making his Adam's apple go down and up again and again.
"Is something wrong with you?" Is the first thing I ask with my eyes half open, I prop myself up on my elbows and seeing that he doesn't answer but just keeps looking at me I burst out laughing: "What's wrong, was I snoring and did that scare you or what?"
"I wish you had scared me" He responds with his voice with a deeper tone than usual, sounding raspy and with a look full of anguish or something similar.
Then a slight pressure settles in my lower belly, and the alarms in my head had gone off.
